I'm not even really a huge Miyavi fan (not as much as I am a Dir en grey, MUCC, The Gazette and closet Gackt fan, that and I've only really heard/seen Neo-Visualizm) but I will go anyway to support more J-Rock in PDX. How much is the tix? My friend Kayla is out in the living room playing DnD with my bf and his lil group and I asked her if she was familiar with him and told her about him coming and she flipped.

Blah, dammit... I Fight Dragons (band that plays chiptune music with custom hardware) is also playing the Roseland on the 25th, and my bf will wanna go to that too. But weeze po' so we likely can't afford doing more than one thing... >.<

So that image you got on yer Myspace, is that what you plan on using? I'd recommend asking Haytham for a larger image and in Black and White, that way you could print it in full 8x11. Also you could maybe put a few (10?) in the HT's, ya know like we did for DeG at the Hawthorne. I don't know if as many folks around here are familiar with Miyavi as they are Diru, but I too hope a fair amount of people show. Oh, and if I end up not being able to go, do me a fave and bring a sheet with you that says "PLEASE BRING MORE JROCK TO PORTLAND" and try to hand that off to Myv if there's any type of meet n' greet.

Usually I'd be running up to the Multnomah Country Library with a Photoshopped master sheet to make a buncha copies of for 10cents a piece on their xerox machine then walk around Pioneer Square handing those out and maybe place stacks on the counter at Lloyd Center and Clackamas Town Center's Hot Topic (like we [me, Vineboy and BluTigerTod] had done previously for Dir en grey), but if someone else is providing the fliers/posters, I may be more inclined even though I may not be Myv's biggest fan. It is somewhat taxing on one's wallet and one's shoes, and there's always the chance somebody will snub you or say something negative, but it is fun and rewarding when you do bump into people who like what you're promoting and were happy to have heard about it before they missed their chance.... I hope this gets a good attendance and that it will spur other JRock acts to do shows in Portland.

Sorry I missed it, I spent the 30th at Westboro Cult's protest of New Hope and after that I was worn out from the yelling matches between them and us and I just felt like sleeping in. Anyways I walked into the HT at Clackamas and on one of their shelves I found little color card adverts for the Miyavi show... I'm curious, who made these? They look super professional. I'm gunna guess Haytham from the Roseland Theatre / Ticketswest hooked you guys up with 'em? I wonder when and if Dir en grey ever come back to PDX we could have similar cards to hand out for that.... actually, such cards would be a great thing to have for any further JRock concerts coming to Portland.
