Date: Oct 23, 2010
Time: Starting at noon.
Place: we will initially meet at Director Park, which is at SW 9th & SW Taylor, in Portland, at noon. If you know where Pioneer Square is, Director park is two blocks West of there (go towards Nordstrom and then keep going).
Director Park on Google Maps:
http://bit.ly/biORIpWe will be at Director Park from noon to around 1pm, then we will probably walk to other locations after that.
What it is (short version): Get together for people who are -- or want to be -- cosplay models, photographers, and photo assistants. Meet, have fun, talk, take photos.
What it is (longer version):
This started out as part of another thread, when danayoki and I decided it would be fun to meet up and talk about photography, and it would be cool if we could get some models and assistants to show up too so we could take some cosplay photos. There seemed to be quite a bit of interest in this, enough to make a separate thread for it.
This will be a pretty open event. If you'd like to model or take photos or assist, but you don't have previous experience with that, that is OK, you can come and try it. All I ask is that you be willing to participate and do at least one of those three things. If you want to do more than one of those things, that's OK too.
Some people have asked what it is that the "assistant" does. That is up to the photographer that you work with. Usually it involves, at a minimum, holding lighting equipment. With me, the assistant will do whatever is needed, basically everything except operating the camera -- it is hard to list in advance everything that it might be.
Anyway, those of you who have worked with me before will already know what to expect. This day won't be exactly like my photo shoots at Kumoricon though, this will be more free form.
As I write this, I realize that some people reading this probably don't know who I am and are confused by this post
So if you want to check out some of my photos, my Kumoricon 2010 shots are here:

- What you want to do (model / photographer / assistant)
- If you are coming as a model, which costume you will be wearing
Any photos that I take at this event may be freely used by me, by the people appearing in them, and by Kumoricon. If you use the photos you must credit me as the photographer. I don't know what other photographers' usage policies are, you'll have to ask them.
This is free. There is no charge for having photos taken -- and also no guarantee of results
Disclaimer: I do not work for Kumoricon. This is not an official event in any sense. It will just be something fun to do between conventions.
