My sister's Luka boots came in the mail today. Now I just need a white dress shirt for her and to make her suspender straps and she's all done with her Luka cosplay!

Oh gosh it's been a while ahahaha ;;;;;

Today I worked on my Tavros horns, ended up making some for Eridan too so I guess it's pretty official at this point that I'm gonna be cosplaying him as well.
I used pink insulation styrofoam (found at Home Depot for like $24--HUGE PIECE) and then once I had the shape I papier mache'd it. I'm letting the mache dry overnight and tomorrow I plan to paint them. I'll upload pictures tomorrow to show how they turn out!

I also finally managed to get the print symbol on my Tav shirt. (we had the mishap of trying with an iron-on for white shirts... yeahhh didn't go over so well) but it's turned out great this time!
I guess some advice for people going at it this way, I highly recommend editing the symbol, picture, etc so it has a black outline (or whatever color your shirt is). This way you don't get tiny slivers of white when you iron it on.

Ummm otherwise I have my armsocks made up except I need to glue the nails on.
Only thing left of Tavros is to buy an overshirt.

For Eridan I've bought the fins and hair clip extension for the colored bit today. I'm gonna try to whip him up in time for Sakura con, but no promises there.

Woot! I finished my Eidan horns!

I used pink insulation styrofoam and paper mache over it, then paint. I highly suggest this stuff for larger horns or head props, man. It's super light weight, and doesn't bother your head at all.

I'll probably end up remaking them for Kumoricon, though. now that I have a bit of practice, I know I should have sanded them down more and probably used hard gesso instead of paper mache. Also next time I'll make them a bit skinnier.

Otherwise I'm pretty pleased with the turn out!

Tavros' horns turned out to be bigger than I thought they were, so I need to remake them now. <w>

I got mine in the mail today. And omg it fits like a dream o.o I'm so thoroughly impressed by it's craftsmanship and how well it fits. And it's awsome material. The hat is a little odd, that it's not a hat but like a circular cardboard thing with the fabric and stuff on it- so there's no inside to it Oo; My roomy and I are thinking of ways I can get this to sit on my head, ending with velcro as possibly the best bet.

I also got the earrings for one of my cosplay in the mail the other day. They're really nice. And don't feel too heavy either.

I've got my contacts! They fit amazingly well! I also got a packet of info regarding colored prescription lenses for Liechtenstein, but they don't have the red for Lina, or any other specials that I'm looking at.

Like the flat clips? Or the flamingo-style clips? I was kind of thinking bobby pins or something... Some kind of flat clip will have to be used... It's seriously got no inside x.x It's a flat bottom with a cardboard inside I can feel.

flat clip work well becuse bobi pens will easlly slipp out. and dosent work all the time just get black clips and hot flue them on the inside i did 8 on the bottume of my hat 4 in the middle and 4 on the outside to hold it all odwn

I just ordered two new wigs... my mom reminded me I have to make my cosplays, so today I plan to work on Stocking's dress and maybe take a stab at trimming my Len wig... hopefully I don't mess up the small layers I want to add to the back. Once my Len wig is styled I'll try out my Rolling Girl cosplay.
This weekend I plan on completing Mio's skirt and starting the blazer/jacket thing and redo my Meltdown Len shorts.

It looks like foam board. real easy to use. I might be wrong tho.

Hey everybody, it's nice to see all the progress is coming along, I really can't wait for Kumoricon this year, It will be too much fun

. So I'm almost done with my first Dave cosplay which will be him from the Lohac exchange(I'll post pictures once my wig comes in). I also Went out and got everything to make my secret Dave cosplay(which my sister is so kind enough to make because I can't sew at all). I'm so excited I can't wait 5 and a half more months

~I'm waiting for my two wigs to arrive, hopefully by Tuesday... :d
~Since I'm now on Spring Break, I'm going to fix my mom's sewing machine and get crackin' on my Stocking dress... depending on the sewing machine's willingness to work >.< if it breaks again, I'm going to just start sewing by hand. DX
~My goal for this break is to finish Stocking's dress, start her accessories (bows, cat, socks and swords).
~I plan on taking some progress photos of Stocking and Mio and having fun in my new wigs when they arrive. (:

Gotta iron the Richea costume. And have to look for the lace still... Ugh *sulk*
I'm also going to repair Link and see if I can't get his shield to work better with a new foam core backing. Which means repainting the entire back all over again. Dang it.

I hope to have both those done before SakuraCon. And hopefully get my Roxas pants in my hand before the con.

After that, it's just a matter of seeing what parts of Richea survive Sakuracon and what needs to be scrapped.

I've also got to fix the master sword for Link. Somehow.

Today I cut, sanded, hot glued (for the effect of ridges), and paper mache'd my Eridan wand. Now I just need to let it dry.. ahh I hope it doesn't take too long to do so ; u;
Darn me for not owning a blow dryer.

I also worked more on my axe bass for Marshall Lee. I cut and sanded it down last night into the right shape, and today I glued the axe and neck of the guitar back together and glued a couple strips of cardboard down to hide the ugly bits.

Tomorrow I'll go shopping for spackling to clean it up a bit more, get some gesso, and see what ever other clothing I can find for my cosplays. :3

Man today was not as productive as I'd hoped!
Spackle takes so much longer to dry than I thought, and so does gesso uggghhhh. <m>
So basically all I got done today was applying spackle to my axe bass and Tavros horns, and right now I'm waiting for the gesso on the first side of the horns to dry. :c

I did manage to get shoes and pants for Eridan, though. But I couldn't find a plain long sleeved black shirt so I'll have to try other stores/do some thrift store shopping for that. You'd think that'd be super easy to find but nuuuuu orz

So, I've got everything I need to revamp Sailor Neptune, except the make-up. I can worry about that later.

As for the others that I'm planning on doing, I'll need to wait until I get my financial aid processed, then I'll have a great idea on how much success I'll have. I think I have a ranking for them: Lina Inverse, Liechtenstein, Mamoru, Pinkie Pie, Toof. Scotland and the Secret Cosplay are already being focused on, so no worries there.

My progress has reached a MAJOR snag
so I've been working on Eridan and I went to start painting the stripes on the pants only to realize, as soon as I started, that they were the wrong color. orz
Like, it looked PERFECT on the color tab, but as soon as I actually used it I realized it was way off.

So I was wondering if anyone knew of a fabric paint, like had experience with it, that painted on the same shade of blue as on his pants:

i dunno if you have access to acrylic paint, but i've found that you can use that to modify the color of fabric paint (tulip brand, at least) with no real difference in how well the fabric paint holds. you may have to mess around with combinations a bit to get it the right color, but it's helped me out of snags like that several times before. hope that helps?

So I went and got everything I need to finish my cosplays for Sak! I'm going to work on finishing my gauntlet tonight and then work on the belt I'm making for Ches.

Also, I got fur trimming to use for my Matt coat and will work on that after con!
