A crossplay question concerning binding.
« on: April 14, 2007, 12:24:54 pm »
Okay sooo I am  going to be crossplaying L for at least one day at the con this year. And I just need any advice anyone can give me about making my chest flat >_< I am not THAT well endowed, but well enough that it would look weird if I didn't flatten the girls a bit X3

kind of an awkward thing to ask, but I must know :3

well... if your going for traditional anime then you could go with the full chest wrap of gauze bandages or something nice n tight. but im sure theres a better trick out there

My friend had to do this for the play she was in.

You saran wrap your breasts as best as you can, then ace bandage them.
But there is a huge risk for pain. And if you are tender there, it hurts like a @!#$@%!.
But it works the best.
Then there is duct tape, but that is just insane.

The easiest way for me, is to wear a really tight shirt that flatens me and then wear ace bandage around my breasts. It's more secure and it cuts me down about three cup sizes.

I hope this helped you.

I'm not that big in the breast department either, so I'm going to be using 2 sport bras that are 1 size too small. Binding with actual tape is only needed if you have a large chest, or if you want to be *completely* board flat.

If you're thinking about binding with tape, check out this thread on cosplay.com, it rocks. :3

just don't use tape. seriously! I taped my legs (ninja wraps) and it hurt like- yeah, I have red marks still from where I taped. I shudder to think of what would have happened when I considered using tape.  saran wrap seems like a good idea, but with ace bandages you can use them over and over again as was useful at sakura-con this year.
I got completely flat but boy it was hard to breath

and this is why when I work security I always carry my pocket knife or my boot knife cause as someone who can give first aid if you wrap yourself too tight we will prolly have to cut you out of it...

just so ya know... but yeah good luck with that just use moderation when binding -is trying to look out for peoples better intrests like living-

Cobane. Its like an ace bandage only its made of rubber and sticks to itself.

It tends to fuse together after a while so it wont be usable again, but if you buy it at a feed store ( its used to wrap horses legs) it isnt very expensive.

Also you may have to cut it, but just to start it out, then you can tear it off. Youd have to be pretty 'special' to injure yourself.

I need to study it and make a wet mold for each piece that is made from blocks of wood or plastic to press wet leather over to make the shapes.

It holds Scizzors, a mini maglight, a buck knife some other stuff and a rubber hammer.   My friend wants me to Copy his so he can make it a sugjested item to his EMT students.   He like to whip out the buck knife and say Rampart center we have an emergency
