Well Princess Peach has pretty much reached the 300 doller mark and is still going as I need to get her crown materials, contacts, and shoes still....

not to mention the hours i put into her last night and the housr i'm going to put into her today....

so really I am curios how the rest of you fair when it comes to your costumes?

Well... In general things, If I were to be smurfette... I don't know... 100 at the most? If I were to get a NICE dress.

But for a white dress? I don't know... whole shabang. Hrmph. Just about 95.

Misa's costumes are just about... I don't know.

oh reminds me you didnt end up buying that one costume online did you? ) : It wasnt a good costume and you could have baught all those items seperatly for much less and way better quality.

a white dress i think would be under 95... i got a white dress that would actualy work for a smurfete but its not very expensive even though its ment for summer tea partys (national charity leage -_-) it only cost me 50 bucks

For my Euphemia cosplay:
I payed $116 for the dress, $95 for the wig, and I still need to buy shoes, a gun, and possibly contacts.

(Ross sells really cheap, nice dresses. Also, material for a white dress wouldnt cost that much at all, so you may want to look into commissioning it.)

hmmm.....well I'm a cheapskate. not just because I hate spending money but because I really have no money to spend. so the cheaper the more I can stretch my dollar. last year I spent like 30 at the most on my main cosplay. this year I think it'll be about 40 at the most for jasdero, um 10-20 dollars for bubbles, 20-30 for meg, mori sempai will be 80 since I have to buy the uniform, and yatsuha is probably only like 10. :/ see how cheap I am? all together

so the total for the whole set of cosplays is about 160-180. and it might even go cheaper then that. I tend to either borrow or get items from friends. :3

i never spend more then 50 on a wig. but the place i by from has insanely good quality wigs to I buy from them frequently hehe.
I've lucked out on some cosplays by already having the fabric. (free from a designer ^_^)
shoes run about $60 or less
and i spent $80 on fabric/meterial for 2 cosplays.....so far
I may need about another $100 for further meterials

thats <$300 for 2 cosplays

A white dress- 20-50
Little White Heels- 10-20
A white beanie hat- 2
Blonde Wig- 10-50

Yeah... On a rough estimate. So... $100.50?

I usually just goodwill a lot of my stuff. :/ Itachi was maybe...$50 so far? I need a new headband, but I can use the cloak for any other Akatsuki member. My secret cosplay is $1.50 so far. 8D

I think my record so far is $47 for Hunny from Ouran. My friend bought me the uniform on taobao (China's ebay) for $32 and the wig was $15...I closet whatever I can *gets lots of hand-me-downs from older sister* I'm cringing on VK Yuuki cause it's gonna cost over $70 at least...T-T never has spent that much on cosplay yet...

For what I'm making for Sak at the moment...

180 for Cassandra but about 50 of that is because I have to remake the clothes.
150 for White Mage and I'm almost done.

Albel is getting close to 300
Kimimaro was about 200
Deidara was 120
Misa was about 100

and if you include the cost to get my hair done it goes way up

Usually I end up spending below $100, but those have only been for my
past cosplays, with didn't include wigs, contacts, props, etc.

I will probably end up spending around $200 this year on my cosplay,
depending on exactly how much money I end up saving in my cosplay funds.

Wow you guys have inexpensive costumes. I don't sew so I am sure a lot of my stuff could be quite a bit cheaper.

Adding this up is going to hurt some of you..

Greed: I've probably spent around $250 on that one (and it is my least expensive that is done..)
Pirate: Close to $400 or so.
Chloe: Around $500
Kurosaki Isshin: Just about $300
Snowtrooper: By the time I buy my E-11 (blaster) we're talking about $1000. Maybe a bit more.
Mal: Haven't done much..but it's going to be super expensive unless I can find someone to make his coat for me. Probably around $600-700
Super secret awesome cosplay: This one is going to be fairly inexpensive..only around $220, maybe a bit more depending on if I do a prop or not.

The Shinigami version. And now that I think about it, it was probably only $200-ish. I don't really remember how much I spent on the actual costume itself, just the sword/shoes/shoulder armor thing.

My cosplay can cost a bit if you count the wigs. If not then my cosplay usually are around $30-70. Wigs are usually $20-$50.

Yeah, Esther hit the $200 mark at some point I do believe. Grave of Maria surpassed that mark a while ago. Oddly enough, my Organization/KH cosplays have been my cheapest.

I try to avoid cosplays that have wigs and use my real hair....though sometimes I change the color of my hair just for a costume.....and it can cost quite a bit. If you really want to argue the cost of Temari was close to 400 maybe approaching 500. I had to get my hair dyed several times to go from dark brown to blond

My Soi Fon cosplay was hmmm...about maybe 5 bucks. Haha. My friend "donated" her old black Prom dress to me. I pretty much just spent money on thread and a bit of fabric. I cut my own hair short so no $$ involved in cut/wig! So, in the end it, didn't cost me a whole lot. OMG, I totally forgot that we did EVERYTHING by hand with no sewing experience...LOL. This was pre-sewing machine purchase.

My Sarutobi Ayame cost more. About hmmmm $50-60? Boots were $5 from Salvation Army, Nice purple wig from ebay $30, fabirc was about $20 altogether. A whole lotta time was spent making things from scratch and no sewing machine experience whatsoever (thank goodness I had time for trial and error). I kinda don't count my investment in a Sewing machine that was $200...I won't only use it only for cosplay, so...yup!

I dunno how much this next cosplay will cost but, I will not go over...$100 I would say. Cosplay is a hobby not an occupation for me--gotta pay the bills ya know!

I bear in mind my preference of no wigs for future cosplays...I mean it was fine, but going around in my own hair felt better than with a wig...

I actually dont spend too much on my cosplay. Heck, my Hikaru, at most, costed 30 dollars. my Ranka costed 35, for the wig alone, but I luckily already had all the material given to me way before Ranka was a twinkle in my cosplay eye. Katsushiro, however, is reaching right near... 150.
