I wondering how many people are cosplaying as Miyazaki characters. Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Ponyo.

I'm personally am going as Kiki for Kiki's Delivery Service.

One day I hope to pull out a Fujimoto cosplay from Ponyo.

It's not that I don't know them; I'm pretty sure I've seen all of them at least once. It's just hard to pick a character. Most of his protagonists are female...

You could always be Haku from 'Spirited Away'.
Or even Howl, from 'Howl's Moving Castle'.

Of course, there are a lot more to choose from.
Those are just ones that are more popular.

i think im pretty much full for this year cosplay wise.

I might try and put something together...I really wanna do the Baron...And who knows, I might be able to do it this year! And if not, next year it is!

If you will accept Ghibli cosplay (Miyazaki didn't produce this one) I was thinking of going as the Tanuki Kincho Daimyoujin the Sixth from Pom Poko (the one with glasses and a walrus mustache) while my wife dressed as Fireball Oroku.  It would actually require very little make-up for either of us, and I get to walk around carrying energy drinks.   ;D

the Cat's name is named Jiji. We could always catnap a Nekozawa from OHSHC and force him to wear black cat ears and to pose as Jiji, but that ruins the Miyazaki/Ghibli thouch.

Finally! I've been waiting for a thread like this for a long time. :3  For K-con '10 I do believe that I will cosplay Shizuku from "Whisper of the Heart", one of my favorite Miyazaki films. If not, Chihiro would be my second option.

Haha, some of these sound incredable.
There's a whole host of Miyazaki characters I want to, or I want to see one of my friends, cosplay.
Turnip head, Kamaji, Howl, Totoro, and even Poor porco rosso.
However, this year's list is full up and no Miyazaki. Sigh.

I did do I soot sprite cosplay once, but it was my first con and my first cosplay and I overestimated my ability to make costumes and the quality of costume that most Cosplayers produce. So it kinda sucked. But it'd be cool to try and edit, or see someone else do.

So is anyone going to try The Borrower Arrietty (http://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=13077.0;topicseen)?  Miyazaki is sort of co-Directing this one.  She looks like she wouldn't be to difficult, and the props would make it obvious who you are cosplaying.  Wonder how to make that hair clip....  Think it will start a new fad?

It won't be for the con, but i'm hopeing for Halloween this year that i'll cosplay as Fujimoto. Because me and my younger friend watched Ponyo a few weeks ago and now she wants me to be Fujomoto and she wants to be Ponyo xD I'm still not exactly sure though i would be able to get it done before Halloween though.

Though, I've been pretty busy and I'm going to be making my coat for Kaito, meaning little access on the sewing machine. I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll have the time to make your dress...
You might want to look for a commissioner. Since it's very simple design, it won't be that much.

Okay, so I just decided next year I'll do Fujimoto. I also managed to convince my girlfriend to be Granmamare, but I can't find the perfect image of her. Main reason being, I want to make the strange jellyfish umbrella-thing she has at the very end. >w<
