Someone mentioned this place to me, Glowing Greens, and I couldn't help but think how absolutely awesome it would be to not only play minigolf in cosplay, but to play blacklight minigolf in cosplay. Pirate themed minigolf, no less. Who doesn't want to see their favorite character swinging a round of minigolf, surrounded by piratical goodness, while everything white in their clothing glows?
And then I looked at the prices. This wouldn't be free. And the number of people changes the price.
1) We could, with a big enough group, book the whole place before they open for a round of minigolf at reduced prices. But that means 20-39 people at $7 a person, which you would be expected to pay. There's also a deposit of $25, but I would ask that to be covered via donations, and the rest would be covered by me. This is only available from Monday-Friday. This has the bonus of a reduced cost per person and we'd get the whole place to ourselves. However, we'd need to have a group of at least 20 people.
OR
2) We could go with a party package. That requires a minimum of 8 people, and each person would have to pay $18.75. With every additional person, however, the price does go down a tiny bit. The package includes 18 holes of golf and a party room. This has the advantage of being a smaller group, and we'd a get a room. However, the cost is higher and we'll have to share the course with other people.
In both cases we'd have to pay for our own food.

The ultimate point here is, are you interested? I know it's kind of expensive in a smaller group, so I'm trying to find out if there's a high enough interest to qualify for group rates.
So..... are you interested in going? would you only go if we could pull of option 1? Would you go either way?
NOTE: This is a count, not signing up for the actual trip. If there is enough interest in either direction, the I'll start another thread that'll be the official thing.

I'm interested, but only for option A. But I seriously doubt we'll get enough people to do it.

before opening.... what time would that be? I tried looking on the website but it didnt give details as to when you could do the facility rental

In all honesty, I would prefer option A myself. But I know how hard it'd be to get that many people to go. It's worth a try though right?
And Tobias, they open at noon everyday, so this would happen sometime before then if we went with option 1, and sometime after if we went with option 2. We would figure out when we want to do later, if there was enough interest to make the trip official.
As another alternative, I noticed that if we go in individually, it's $8 a person. Which means we could gather as a group in front, and then go in. But I'd have to figure out the logistics for that. This would mean doing it during normal hours, and we'd be surround by other people with out the benefit of a room. It also means we could go in as a smaller group with out paying a lot of money. (so after noon) So lets call this option 3, if anyone is interested in that.

I've been there many times and it's fun ^^ I would totally be interested in going in cosplay!

It's fun and looks great! And it can make some pretty good pictures. I would totally go in a Pirate cosplay!

Though, I might not go, just b/c it's getting close to con and I have a lot of things I still need to pay for ^^;

Yeah, I knew money would be an issue. I certainly wouldn't mind scheduling sometime after the con, if that'd make it more doable for people.
If all else fails, at least the idea is out there now. And maybe it could happen next year if not this year, right?

I think option A would be better, but I'm not sure if we could get enough cosplayers...

Depending on the day, I will be able to go. And I probably will be able to bring two other people with me as well. And of course, option A is the most preferable choice...

Of course you can go. the only age limit is whatever the place sets. And since mini golf is directed at kids, I think you're good.

One of my friends, Angela (cosplays as Xigbar) says that she would want to come. She agrees with option A.

sigh i wish i had money and time... stupid work and school and cosplays... i'm down as a ... 40% and i vote for next year.

Ah yes, all things that seem to always get in the way. If we do this this year at all, it'll probably get scheduled after con season, for the sake of time and money. If I doesn't happen this year (or even if it does) I'll totally try again next year. Only, I'll know to start planning much earlier.

Oh, haha. Fail on my part. I'm not gonna worry to much about scheduling until we get closer to twenty people.
Oh on that thought though, this will probably take place on a weekend, just to put that out there.

I'm gonna ask my rl cosplay friends to see if I can bring a group. as of yet unsure of how many people would be going/ if they can go.
