Ciel's Grand Tea Party

You are cordially invited to Earl Ciel PhantomHive's Grand Tea Party. There will be fun, there will be prizes, there will be sweets. Please come, relax, and enjoy yourselves and be entertained by our great hosts. Hosted by the Funtom Company.

This is an idea myself and my girlfriend came up with. Having a Kuroshitsuji-themed tea-party esque panel. We aren't sure really where it's going yet, so are looking for suggestions oh how to go about it. n.n Tell us if you wanna come, who as, suggestions for what we should do, etc.!

My alternate Sebastian costume looks great but my hair is too short for accuracy and I hate wigs. I probably won't attend unless this is more than two months away. :/

We plan on making this a panel at con xDD Hence being under panels. So it'll be MORE than two months.

That would be really great, sandro. I want to make a lot of tea snackies, and get a big ol' cake made. And tea would definately help. I have a really tiny porcelain tea set (the cups are pretty much shot glasses xD) for Ciel. As for heating water... getting one of those big, Starbucks esque things? And maybe try to get our hands on some actual tea pots/kettles, and have some pre-brewed tea. So, people can get their own tea, but the ones in the kettles, etc. are served by Sebby, Ciel, Grell, etc.?

Any idea for more things to do? Or things specifically for the 18+ panel?
Like... maybe the Kuro Dare game should be 18+. That can get out of hand... really fast xD

The auction should stay in the underage one I think, though. Then we get more people.

And what kind of things should we auction? I plan to donate all of it to Kumo or Kumo's Charity auction. Should we only accept items for it? Etc... -is a-plannin'-

This sounds very great as a panel I will attend this for sure. I like how you guys doing a charity and auction a dance with a character. It reminds me of when people auction dates with a person. This panel sound very high class and cake!! If you would like I would not mind donating some cash so you could buy cake for your panel.

I hope this panel turns out well... and yeah, I was thinking...

Underage: Tea (snacks, cake, w/e), maybe the first episode of Kuro?, Q&A panel, Auction, dance (starting with the auction winners)... games? -doesn't know xD-

18+: Kuro Dare game (dare the hosts to do things... like Ciel kiss Sebby n.n)... and more games?

I'm having a harder time thinking of things for that one. Suggestions?

I just had a thought. Some auction pieces could be things made. Like I can make mini-plushies, maybe some t-shirts... and Ciel eyepatches, things like that. Maybe I could ask a few people I know who are vendors if they would be willing to donate anything Kuro-related.

And one more thing! Any skit-like things people want to see? I was thinking of having skits throughout both panels, that SEEM spontaneous, but are really planned. xD For instance, Ciel is serving tea, gets tapped on the shoulder by Sebastian, who then demands his "payment" (Ciel's soul)... Ciel agrees, but Sebby surprises him by giving Ciel a kiss and walking off.

And maybe, during one of them, Ciel (me xD;;;) sneaks out and changes into dress/girl Ciel, maybe during a ball dance bit? And a somewhat more comical reenactment of the Run From Lizzy! part of the dance... or something xDD;;;

I was thinking of that too. I might ask my mom during the summer if she'll ask her church or something. But I'm... not religious. xDDD

Two friends of mine might be filling the host roles of Alois and Hannah, and the Hannah goes to a big church. I can ask her. Maybe before I send in the event form, I'll contact the Kumo staff about things like donations, the auction, and tea water.

I am liking the idea of two kinds of tea more and more: tea/water/something for anyone to get, and tea served from actual tea kettles by the host Kuros. n.n;;;

I forgot to say this... but you don't have to cosplay Kuro to come xDDD;;;

Though K-con in particular is still sort of iffy for me since I'm visiting my family in Scotland. Unfortunately the time that seems to work best for everyone just so happens to be at the exact time as K-con. However, I'm really, really hoping that I can do it a bit before or after, because I would be sad to miss this ;n;

I apparently -according to some sources D<- have a British accent at times, so that helps. And I know how to do Ciel's make-up fairly well now. I study my characters before I cosplay them real thoroughly. I think I've annoyed Ms. Chibi over there with it xDD

The Hannah cosplayer should sing in Welsh,like they do in the last episode when she sung Suo Gan.
Can you tell I love Welsh things? I'm not very subtle about it. I got a minor stroke when I realized they were actualy singing in Welsh in an anime.

Aww, I'm so incredibly short. I'll be the shortest Ash ever, though I could act him pretty well if I tried.

you should talk to uwajimayas to see if theyll be willing to cough up something. maybe even talk to con staff about seeing what they have to offer.  oh! and see if that anime shop in Bend would be able to contribute. Perhaps set up some shiny gift baskets as well. just as a suggestion.

Hmmm, there are a few DVDs I'd love to get rid off, but they've already been opened. Would they still be worth something? I have some manga in fairly good condition as well. And a Sesshomaru clock I'd be more than happy to get rid of along with a small KHR alarm clock xD

Hey guys,

Sorry to rain on your parade, but tea parties are very hard to do at con.  You can't bring in your own food and tea - per contract, only the hotel can provide food in event space.  And the cost for them to cater is very high, not something I can cover out of my panel budget.  The tea parties we have had in the past have had an admission to cover the catering, and even then you only got a cup of tea and maybe a cookie.. not a lot.

For the auction - love the idea, but you need to run that past the Director of Relations, since our auction is under her.

Auctioning off people - that is a very iffy area, and unless you can convince me and a few other people that it's a brilliant idea, it will most likely be a 'no'.

18+ events - that would have to be a separate panel.. it's complicated to kick people out halfway through an event (have you been to the dances? :D)

Dance in a panel - that's a logistical problem, they are two completely different setups and take some time.  If you are set on hosting a dance, make a proposal for the formal dance.. I have a couple other groups that are interested in hosting, so I am going to be setting a date for people to tell me their ideas.  Best one hosts.

It sounds like you've got a lot of great ideas, but maybe we should talk a bit about what is feasible and what is not.  I'd hate for you to get ahead in your planning, only to have to tell you that you can't do it.  You can email me at programming@kumoricon.org, or come to one of our general meetings and we can talk about it.

This is just an idea, but perhaps insted of 'auctioning off people', there could be games and the winners would win dances with the hosts. I soppose that way it would be a bit more....friendly and harmless? (i'm not sure if those are the right words, but i can kind of see now how 'buying' people could go wrong..)

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but going to businesses and asking for donations on behalf of Kumoricon is not a good idea.  It is something only authorized Kumoricon staffers (specific staff designated by the Director of Relations) can do.

If you really want to get involved contact Sarah, Director of Relations (relations@kumoricon.org), about becoming staff.  And like I said before, you really need to talk to her about your idea of an auction... that is not something I would typically allow in a panel.

Mitsukai, I will send you an email in the next week to tell you about the dance.  I have talked to the hotel liaison about getting catering prices for you, but that may take a while to get the information back from them.

of course you can come as a character! It's just that I'd like only one per character for the hosts, like people I'm stealing to help me out with possible scenes and planning and crap. xD

I like the idea of possible skits and things. We should do this... like the idea I had of, just before the Kuro 18+ (If I decide to go as a PJ Ciel with just the bottoms and my chest bind corset thingy), I yell "Sebastian, I... I can't!" ala the crossdressing corset part, then the doors open and everyone comes in to see Sebby pulling on my chest bind like the corset. xD

Also, Ciel ordering Sebby around enough that he finally goes "No soul is worth this ****!" and storms out... only to be dragged back by Claude or someone. xD

And maybe, at the very end of either panel, Ciel gets taken away to get his soul eaten. n.n;;; or, if it was the 18+, his getting his soul eaten is in fact a kiss from Sebby. Or something. I dunno. Any other ideas?

We could still nab a projector and show an episode or something. Or one of the OVAs

Photobooth kind of thing? How would be pull something like that off?

And as soon as I hear back from con, I'll figure out about some skits. What kind of things would people like to see us do? Heather (host-Sebby) and I were thinking about, for the 18+ panel, having me in boxers or my shorts and my corset chest bind, and have her tugging on the back like in the anime as people enter. xD And having it turn almost into a yaoi moment, then Ciel notices the people, gets flustered, and pushed Sebby away... thus starts the 18+ panel. xD

thats so amazing. itll be so hard to stay in character. and what i meant by photobooth is that we should have a time set aside for people who want to have pictures with the cast.

I don't think a photobooth will work. It usually best to keep the audience as much away from the performers as possible, especially with this series...there are a lot of rabid fangirls that might do things that we don't want...

I wanted to bring some yummy cupcakes I made, but then I found out we can't actually have food at this and I don't want to get in trouble if I got caught sneaking it in. So after the Panel I will be handing these cupcakes out in the park
they shall be Neapolitan (One layer of vanilla one layer of chocolate and one layer of strawberry) and most likely won't be vegan sorry!

I know, but I can't change it for a photoshoot u.u I've got my con schedule finished already, and all my FF cosplays are on Day 0 and Day 1, when I only have one event (the AMV Contest). Day 2... with all my events going on that day, I have no room for anything other than Ciel and Yuna(Cosplay Contest).

Also means I might miss the Hetalia panel, since at the moment the cosplay contest judging is during it. We'll see though n.n

And I can't bribe them, woman xD That's against so many rules. We can still kinda have something like it though; just need to collect donations, maybe giving some kind of incentive? Just can't get MONIES to donate; we donate items to the actual Charity Auction.

LAST CHANCE to suggest games or ANYTHING for both the 18+ and underage panels before I make a list and send it out to the people in the panel (or as many as I can). After that, I'll probably ask things like "What scenes?" or "what skits do you want to see?" If we do those.

And, if it isn't part of the plan already I can download a bunch of Kuro stuff and any other music people want and just bring my iHome, or some computer speakers if someone else has already got this covered. But I think some waltz-y-kuro-type music would be fun so I can flirt and be all Alois and junk xD;;

If you want any Tales of the Abyss or Final Fantasy songs, or Parasite Eve, just ask. There's some good waltzy-type and orchestral in there, and I happen to have EVERY FF OST AND UNOFFICAL OST IN EXISTENCE, as well as the other two games xD.

You play Freeze by two people acting out a random scene. Any time, someone says "Freeze!", takes the place of one (exact poise and all), and acts out a new one.

Sorry guys. I've been caught up sewing u.u

I'll send the e-mail right now with those that I have the e-mail for, but I'll post it here as well.

For the under 18 panel, we'll start off with introductions and a very short Q&A about our character's, in character. We'll get down to the games, probably like... Freeze, Honey, etc. And the way we stop each one is to have a character sorta start an improve-esque skit around a theme (like Gina, as Alois, yelling 'FREEZE!' when I'm playing as Ciel, and then trying to kidnap me for the lolita). I'll have in the e-mail specific prompts.

Any ideas for the improve skit ideas? I've got, so far, the aforementioned one with Alois, Elizabeth trying to put a bonnet on Sebastian... uh... (crap, I've been thinking about this, but am having a terrible time thinking of any with the hosts we've got).

We've got an hour for the panel, and it'll probably end with another short Q&A from the audience, all in character, but keeping it tame.

For the 18+, it's a bit different. We'll have a full Q&A, since we don't have to worry about the pesky 18+ rule (Heather learned from the Hetalia panel last year how risque certain anime can get with that). We'll have that for about... 20 minutes to a half hour (I'll be watching the time). Then we'll start on the games for the 18+; probably start with in character truth or dare, with the truths and dares being from the audience. Hosts reserve the right to say NO. They also reserve the right to say **** NO. After that one, if we have time, I'm gathering together various pieces of the fandom (choice fanfics, fanart, etc) that may make the actual characters go "WTF?" and have an 'exploration of the fandom' sort of thing... but in character. xD

As far as the lolita thing goes I'm just not sure if I can finish it xD;;
If anything, I will have the pink one for you and for donation but I am going to go get fabric and stuff today so I can see if I will be able to finish the blue one in time, otherwise I will bring another lolita that will work for the skit's sake but can't be donated. But I wanted to let you know in advanced. However! I am going to work my butt off to finish my cosplays, Angie's Angela costume and the lolita this week so HAH! Who needs sleep anyways?!

Ha ha, Fion, that's funny. ^^ That would make a great skit. And seems fun so far, Scarlet! :) Just a bit worried because I haven't gotten around to watching more of the series yet, so I'm sure there are/will be things that I don't understand. Wish I had more time to fix that problem!

Ok as far as a skit goes, I don't know if anyone has ever played one of those games at a bridal shower where the bride and the groom are asked questions about each other and their answers are generally completely wrong and hilarious? I was thinking something like that would be a lot of fun between Ciel and Sebastian or Elizabeth and Ciel :3 Or really any 2 characters!

An example would be 'What's your spouse's (butler's, master's, what have you) favorite animal?'

Both of the players write down what they think the other person will say and then reveal their answers. Just an Idea!

I've seen some pretty interesting Kuro fan art out there, the late night panel will be fantastic!

I'm excited!!

I think if they answer in character, just like you mentioned above, that would be best. Even if they don't know their "partner" that well. I think it'd be fine to really put out any answer that made sense.

I wanted to go to this, but I couldn't.

Me and the other Kuroshitsuji cosplayers were all at a photoshoot right before it. And when we got there, we were told that there was no room, so a lot of us Black Butler cosplayers didn't even get to go to the panel, which was for me, probably the thing I was looking forward to most.
Definitely best 1st con ever, I just wish I could have gone to the one single panel I wanted to go to.

However, it was made up for as me and some other Kuro cosplayers who didn't get to go to the panel had our own party out in the park by the gazebo with food and drinks and stuff like that and I made some new friends there. :3 So it all worked out for the best, I suppose, I still wish I could have gone to the one panel I wanted to.
(I feel like that with these anime themed panels, the cosplayers from that anime should have first dibs on the panels, like the Black Butler panel, the black butler cosplayers should all have a chance to get in, and the Hetalia World Meeting I didn't make it to either, but I feel the Hetalians should have gotten first dibs on that too. Like, I'd expect mostly Hetalia cosplayers to be there)

Anyway, I wish I could have gone to it, and that the other AMAZING Black Butler cosplayers(There was a Ciel and she was AMAZING. Best Ciel I had seen, probably ever.) could have gotten to it, but I had fun with all the other Black Butler cosplayers too!

The panels were so much fun! The 1:00 AM panel was very, very tiring but it was so much fun :) Hahaha Petra's whale call made me break character almost immediately, I don't make a good puppet! Let's do it again!!!

The 18+ panel went nearly a half hour over time xD I had lots of fun. Where's all them recordings?

We're doing it again next year, and I'm hoping to get Live Events for under 18, and a panel room for 18+, since there's less people there. The same hosts, hopefully, will return and stuff too. We didn't expect such a turn out, and thought the panel room would be okay. Imagine my surprise! O-O

I'm glad you guys had fun, even if you didn't get in. I was a panelist on the Hetalia panels, and apparently there was a LOT of complaining about the cap on people let in. I wish everyone could have, but the line cut was for fire safety regulations; not something we can really change. xD

Made me certainly feel more involved and much more appreciated since all of the people who came to the panels were so supportive and wonderful. I was thinking of making it an hour and a half long; that might change, of course. Getting the Live Events room, so more can come in is another change. Also, pushing for it to be Day 1, in the evening time. That way the panels are closer together, and I CAN'T do the panel Day 2. I have a costume I've already planned and am getting started on for the Cosplay Contest. The sheer size and elaborateness of the outfit (it involves huge arm prosthetics and stilts) and the white makeup, plus all the rest of it, will make it next to impossible to change in and out, in and out, so that's a full-day costume. Heather, Sebby, will be similar with her costume, but not quite as much. Oh, and both require latex in the makeup xD

But yeah. Day 1, hopefully in the evening because of registration, and getting a bigger room.

But, Fion, it's basically what you use when you ride horses. It's similar to a whip, but riders who ride "english" (instead of "western") use a riding crop instead. it's like a leather stick with loose leather, uh, strings at the end.

Even though you couldn't come to the 18+ panel, we're glad you could make it to the main one! ^^ I'm happy that you had fun~! And, yes, it will be happening again next year, I believe. :) The 18+ panel was a bit more mellow as I'm sure everyone was pretty tired, but it was interesting. We looked at odd fandom pictures. xD
