I'm going to Sakuracon and it will be my 6th year there. Some of you have asked me about having photo shoots at Sakuracon.
Yes, I'm going to do that, and these photo shoots will also be possible material for the 2012 cosplay calendar for liheliso.org. (If for some reason you want a cosplay photo shoot but you don't want to be in the calendar, that is OK too, just let me know.) These photo shoots will be free.

I hope to be able to do a photo shoot for everyone who wants one. However, there is only so much time I'll have available, before it will start to interfere with me being able to go to the Sakuracon events that I really want to go to. So if there are not enough slots I will have to give priority to the people who have been to my photo shoots in the past.
If you are interested in a cosplay photo shoot at Sakuracon, please let me know. I will be there starting on the 21st (day 0), and I'd like to do some day 0 shoots if possible. Please let me know which days you will be there, what character you'll be cosplaying, what name you want to use for model credit, and any other info that might help me prepare to take photos of you.

I dont know what days Im doing what yet or what exactly I will be cosplaying but I know I will bring Luka (Vocaloid) and my Umbreon (Pokemon) to Saku. I will hopefully have a Taokaka (Blazblue) finished as well.

Yes, it's a long list. We will probably need to have more people per time slot than we did at Kumoricon, except for Day 0 when I'll have more time. So it may work out more like 3-4 people per 30 minute time slot instead of 1-2. That should be OK though because there won't be so much time spent walking to locations.

Yes, that is OK. We can pick days, and times for Day 0, but I'm not quite ready to decide on times for days 1-3 yet. I want to wait until closer to the convention when we can plan it around the event schedule.

If you're there day 0 there is still plenty of room. I'll be arriving around noon on day 0 and probably staying up pretty late, so there will be lots of time that day. On the other days, I will probably have to limit photo shoots to around 2 hours per day (which would be 4 sessions of 30 minutes each per day) so that I have enough time to go to convention events.
I will put together a tentative schedule pretty soon, but I think it would probably work so that everyone who has replied so far would get an opportunity for a shoot.
Oslapedo is going to be my assistant for Sakuracon :D

OK, I made a few mistakes on the first schedule, so let me try to fix it. All these times are still tentative and could change if they conflict with some major con event.
@Sugarlat: I didn't put you in the schedule yet because you have 3 different things that all sound interesting, but I'm not sure what you're doing which day. I'll set aside some times for you thoughl.
@nyahaha: Oops, I put you at the wrong time, because I already have photos of you as Kida (which was cool, but I'd like to get some of the others too). So how about we try for Saturday morning for Kiki, and Sunday I could do either or even both of your cosplays because I don't have much scheduled for Sunday yet. (I don't know how early you will be ready, but maybe we could do something Saturday morning before whatever the "big" event that day turns out to be. For now I'm putting down 9am.)

There are some times I could do. Day 0 (Thursday) would be my first choice if they are there that day. Friday looks pretty full. I could also add them in to the Saturday or Sunday times. Let me know what works.

Unfortunately one of the girls isn't coming up for the con until Friday. I think Saturday might work best. Is there anyway you can squeeze them into an evening time on Saturday? If that's booked and/or you have plans after the shoot, then will the 9 am time slot work?

Saturday evening probably works. If for some reason that doesn't work then the morning time will work for sure.

OK, which day? Basically if you want a not-crowded time it has to be in the morning, or day 0, or late night, but I could probably do something.

I would do late night but he isn't eighteen till the 24th x: and my friend just changed our cosplays for day 1 , but i believe we're done moving the stuff around .. lol

Because of this, I will have to make a few changes to our photoshoot schedule to avoid conflicts.
Thursday, Friday and Sunday: no changes.
Saturday morning: no changes.
Saturday night is the problem, because the cosplay costuming contest goes from 7:30pm-10:00pm Saturday night. So we need to move the two Saturday night groups to a different time or a different day. So the people affected would be tofutakeout, Sugarlat, TalkNerdToMeBaby, and sandrobotticelli.
The times that I could do on Saturday would be 3-4pm and 4-5pm, or we could try for a late Saturday 10:30pm-11:30pm time. Or I could also add another evening slot on Friday 8:30-9:15pm.
Please let me know what would work best for you, or if you have other ideas.

That all depends on if you want pictures with my suit lit up or not. Laura will not be attending con this year, unfortunately, but I do have a friend helping me around. She just won't be in the shoot. Let me know what you're looking for! =]

Could my friends squeeze into the 4-5 pm time slot on Saturday? I think I also mentioned earlier that I can be there for any assistance you may need.

Also, as a general note for everyone, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone and getting great photos. But if something comes up and you can't make it to the shoot, please let me know as soon as possible. There may be someone else who could use your time slot, or if not then maybe I could take a rest or go to a panel instead.

Hahahaha, photoshoot on the train? Of course!!! Great idea. And if you are at the train station early, that station is a pretty cool place for photos . . . and so is the Seattle station.

Teds car just broke down and we don't have the money cause Rent is due soon after we would get back from SakuraCon and the cost to fix the car, gas, hotel, and food...then rent...? Yeah...we don't have that money.

The meeting spot is inside the convention center, on the street level, right by the corner of 7th & Pike, just inside the glass doors. And the plan is for her to be there for all the shoots, except if she wants to take a break at some point and one of the other volunteers can assist instead.

A bit off-topic, but I think this story is relevant to the people coming to this photo shoot, so I wanted to share it:
I was talking with a friend today, and she said, "How do you know all these great people? When I see your photos, I see all these amazing creative people with cool costumes and it looks so fun, and I think I must be lame because I don't know anyone like that, but I wish I did."

I can't wait to shoot with you again. Next time I hope I remember my make up though. I was so angry at myself when I looked at the pictures and realized I wasn't wearing any.
Maybe one day (hopefully someday) I can steal you for a day to get photos or be able to go to one of your shoots again.
I'm planning to remake or at least fix up Luka and I'm redoing the whole bottom part to Sasuko.
And I have an Umbreon finished...and I'll be making an FMA character.
