I have just figured out that my parents won't be able to afford any parts of my cosplay, so I got really sad... But my friends said they'd help me, but we don't know what to do!! So does anybody have any idea what a couple of 13 year old girls can do for money? (that is safe, and legal lol) Because I really want to at least finish the cosplay that I started! Anything helps!

pop cans I use to go around and gather pop cans saying it was for a school event.. o.o thats legal :p also car washes small grage sell of your things old clothing stuff like that summer is commin do some yard work. put up soem baby sitting flyers I baby sit 2 kids 5 -10 an hours o.O
-
You could also do yard work. Since you are young stay in your neighborhood and if anyone feels "off" don't go in houses. all transactions are done outside.

sell some books to Powells. I got about $50 total for selling all the manga I don't read anymore. And I second the pop cans. I am actually going to take my parents in again before con.
-
maybe this isnt a thing anymore, but when i was that age i use to babysit. since no one mentioned it here, maybe it's not something people do anymore? anyway, i use to make plenty, and were i into anime at that time in my life, i would have had no problems affording w/e cosplay i wanted.
-
that is a good idea i make $10 an hour $5 per kid for baby sitting I ve made $800 a month baby sitting o.o
-
Even though this isn't a tip on how to get money but, just stay cheep with your costumes. Goodwill is your best friend.

I might try that, there are some manga I wouldn't mind giving up, thank-you for the help!

Yea, Babysitting is still popular, but I just don't know how to get into the groove, and I'm not much of a child person, but I'd like to try... Where to start lol Thank-you for the help~

I buy almost all of my cosplays at goodwill, but this is just one I can't buy/make on my own~~ lol But thank-you anyways~

What's your last cosplay? I'm sure I could help you find and alter anything you need. I basically used to live at goodwill lol
-
I'd let you babysit, if I had kids.
Another possible option is to sell some of your stuff in the Manga Swap Meet area. http://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?board=51.0 Though if you do that, and anybody bites, you'd have to find ways to meet up with the individuals. In that case, I'd recommend traveling with family or friends to a public location.
-
You could also try a newspaper office.
I know the New Register where I live hires kids ages 10 and up. Its only small amounts of money but its an easy job, I did it when I was 13 and thats how I paid for my first Convention.
You could clean family members homes. Ask around to see if anybody would offer some extra money for you to clean.
You can mow the lawns around the neighborhood, walk friends' dogs, there's about anything you can do.

It would be Sandplay of the Singing Dragon and I'm cosplaying as Luka if not maybe Luki

Well, depending on what you need, I can talk to my friends at the goodwill on lombard street in portland and see if they can find anything

Last year my friends and I spent all our money on the outfits and food, that we forgot about the hotel room. So we made signs that said "Need money for kumoricon" and "Need $ for cup of noodles". We made 100+ dollars from the nice people in town. I do have to say if you are to do this too, be happy, go during the day, and stay on a busy street where other people can see you. Also when people give you money just take the money and move on. Strangers can be nice and love silly signs! Just be careful and have fun.

I sew and work with other things, like beads, wood and metal for props. What are you trying to make?
-
I'm 13, too. I ask my parents for extra chores to do around the house to earn money, like mowing the lawn or washing the dogs. I also sell stuff on Ebay (my mom lets me use her account).
