Probably too late for us to get a booth but we can always pass out flyers!
Sounds neat.

Oooh, goodies! That sounds sweet. I'm gonna be sure to go, well I really want to! That makes a potential three Asia-oriented events in just May. Awesome!

Yeah, not to mention the release of Spiderman 3, Pirates 3, Pan's Labyrinth on DVD, gah, madness. My wallet will simply implode upon itself.

Man - this year is just flying by. I think this would be a super fit for us -- next year. We kinda did the Chinese New Year this year as our experiment into something a little different as far as outreach goes. But it does sound awesome and I will check with them to see if we can at least hang a poster or get a spot to set out some fliers. Thanks for the post Jaz and the ST shout out Leashy!
-
Damn, that makes three things next month that I want to do but can't. All Japan-related, and all sounding like tons of fun... Now I'm gonna go sit in the corner and cut myself until my schedule frees me up enough to have fun again.
-
its just funny that it's really ocurig after month of an old sign for it
-
Why does that web-site say Fort Meyers, Florida?
-
i also have a few spare free admits tickets too
-
I'll see if I can go. :) We should all meet at a certain place!

heh, I'd be glad to take one of those off your hands, Jaz. Meet up sounds like a good idea; it's always a good idea to do fun events with friends....as someone intelligent probably said once.
-
Unfortunately I can't make it. :/
Jaz- If you go to Suncoast on Sunday, I probably could give you your stuff there. ^____^

I was sorely disappointed. Scant art, only one food vendor which didn't look good at all, and a couple of booths with pamphlets. Even a lot of non-Asian stalls who just had Asians in their ads.
I thought Kumoricon would have a booth at least, but nothing.

I had hoped to have a booth as well, but by the time I'd heard about it and brought it up, it was too late to get a booth. And also, apparently, we don't seem to get much response from events that are broadly themed Asian events, as we would from Japanese centric events.
However, I will say that while Jaz, Chris, and I were there, we went around to all of the vendors, and many of the asian themed vendors were interested in our convention and what we were about. Many people asked me for my name and number and for fliers. I even met a representative for Oya no Kai who requested info on becoming a vendor. So, as Jaz said earlier, we did make some pretty good contacts there by just walking around and talking to people.
I really think, though, that we need to keep this event in mind for advertising in future years.
Oh, and the Oregon Convention Center is such an awesome venue. ^_^
