PUPPY!!!!
-
Theyre my fave. If you set them up right theyll own the hell out of everyone else.
..and thus i have stepped off of the ledge into the dark abyss of utter geek-dome. *sigh*
-
Well, um....Bards are cooler? *shifty eyes* THEREFORE, Rogues are silly. Yes.
-
What do male African elephants have to do with anything?
-
Without rogues, we wouldn't have those clever "rogues do it from behind" t-shirts. And that would be tragic.
-
In Dungeons and Dragons or GURPS, the Rogue is a crucial part of a party; they can sneak across a small ledge and tie a rope on the other side of a wide chasm. They can open a locked door or chest without making noises. They can spy to get crucial information, and kill an unaware opponent with ease.
In everything else, yeah, they're pretty useless.
-
I think of Ragnarok Online when I think of Rogues. They have tacky outfits and are pretty much the same as its class predecessor except they can shoot arrows OoooOOooOOooooo~! So yes, they are useless.

Damend straight. I had a rouge that was literaly half the age and size of everyone and pretty much carryied the party..not phsyically ofcoarse, wasnt too strong XP
Also, if you ignore strength and put most of theyre pts into speed theyre just as badass as any warrior.
Iv only ever played one in D&D tho so aside from that I cant say.
-
Okay, before i can make an itelligent, on topic post related to this, i need to know one thing:
WoW or D&D?
Now, seeing as intelligent, on topic posts are NOT the norm on this forum, i have this to say:
A Dyslexic walks into a Bra.

Rogues, then, while not useless, are also not amazing. If you PvP, cool, you can trounce people. In a raid setting, you will have damn high dps (I cant top the rogue in my guild when hes with us, no matter how many trinkets i pop). However, your situational usefullness is limited. Your not going to be stun locking much of anything, unless you have a feral tank, expose armor wont help, so your down to dropping sin strikes, eviscerates, and slice and dice. So while ya, your topping the DPS chart fairly easily, your also not going to be as useful as a lock or a mage or a me, because we can pull stuff like banish, frost nova, and ZOMG ITS A CHICKEN! out of of arsenals.
So my verdict is: Not useless, but not usefull at the same time. Lit wins.
-
your right, rogues have no curses too. thats warlocks.
or Boomkin... Curse of Moonfire Spam.
-
chotto matte....
are we switching games?
I mean, hunters dont have a headshot ability, that i know of.
Sniper does though, we talking about DotA?
No rogues in DotA, but theres SA...
-
oh. Then beam sword to the face.
BTW, Server?
-
damn, too bad lol.
-
boulderfist for the lose...
dude mustash when halo 3 comes out you wanna head to my place and play it? I will so own you at it lol
and I am on mustash's side of rogues being useless I mean go against any other class and you are likely to lose and the only you can be useful is if you play pve and thats just wrong...
-
If any rogues suck it's because their awesomeness was stolen by rogues from other systems (likely Rogue from X-Men, who has a couple of fighter levels too at this point).
Rogue Squadron can take out all y'all.
-
Ha, I'll get a radio. I got a raise so I'll buy my own! and it'll be PINK and smell like roses and have an earpiece and I'll hide in Lloyd Center and hit the call button ALL DAY LONG!
*mwahahahahahaha*
Just kidding.
C'mon guys, how you gonna fight Rogue Squadron. Stealth? Cunning? DAGGERS? You got nothing. 8)
-
If you do that Tom, I will have Bakazoku Chris take off his badge and I'll sic him on you and hunt you down. :-P

Isn't it about International Talk like Pirate day?

Pssshh, I'll be flying in my spaceship! Chris doesn't have any cosplay for starfighter characters!
What's the big deal Hawkeye? You have a bad experience?
Did an X-Wing shoot down your papa over Endor?
(for those who don't get it) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_Squadron)
-
its ALL about the Rogues and the Wraiths. Zinsj and Iceheart didnt stand a chance ^_-

Why yes, yes indeed.
-
Okay so personally I think it's stupid to say that any class as a whole is useless/awesome. it ALL depends on how you play it, and since everyone plays the game differently you're not going to be useful all the time or useless.
I like my rogue because it's the class I play the best.
so saying rogues are stupid, or rogues are the best class is just plain ignorant.
-
see? She wins.
Although i do have to say rogues kinda get shafted in TBC end game content, as most bosses these days have AoE's or back attacks that screw rogues up (Maiden of Virtue, Romulo, Murmur, to name a few)
-
Oooh, you should play "My name is Patrick" with her, I'm pretty she you'd win at that! Her name is almost never Patrick!
-
Get a legit copy of WCIII so WE can play DotA Mustash!!!!
-
awww, wow? i don't have that kind of money! but in every game pretty much ever i end up as a rogue or equivalent because of one simple fact:
in all rpgs you usually end up as a self-serving and greedy, ignoring the npcs unless they offer you vast riches, picking the fillings out of your allie's teeth before their body gets cold, so i figure if you're going to be a greedy bastard, you might as well be a good greedy bastard. which reminds me of DM of the Rings, which is hilarious and now i have to go read that again.

In Morrowind, a Rogue-style character works really well, as follows:
Major Skills:
-long sword
-light armor
-alchemy
-stealth
-security
Minor Skills:
-medium armor
-acrobatics
-merchantile
-speechcraft
-athletics
It's basically the only way to go if you want to clear every mission in the game and never get killed or arrested.
-
morrowwind, the best way to go is acrobatics as a major skill, period
you cannot lose when you level up by jumping.
-
Agreed. Lol I LOVE morrowind btw... I almost beat it all by myself once. (almost meaning I finished everything but I teleported out of the final battle after it was done so I didnt' get congratulated for saving the world :c) And then when I went back through it again with a walkthrough I was like "WTF this is exactly what I did! Oh...I didn't walk out at the end..." I felt really dumb DX
but yes Rogues are pwnsome when used correctly, but when operator error takes it's toll they are full of fail DX

You're right. My character's a Rabbit Nord Stealth Killa. Using no cheats or walkthroughs whatsoever, I have 30,000 gold and I've maxed out Long Sword and Acrobatics.
I also have 115 Personality thanks to my amazing mask of win.
-
the classes that require a skilled player are the most rewarding. anyone can stack sunders, it takes skills to win with a rogue ^_-
-
Mournhold = you will never need money every again in morrowind. I had like at least 80k on there. haha morrowind yay!
-
I actually stopped needing money when I got to level 30. At that point, I was able to kill up to 5 guards at once, so I can basically kill anyone I want and just develop a world record bounty. Granted, I don't, because I want to eventually get around to beating the game. (although I have to reach the highest rank in every guild first!)
-
I don't think you can reach the highest rank in every guild. I tried, and I think the two that conflict with each other are warriors guild/thieves guild it is kinda t3h suck :\ I never got past like novice in warriors because I loved being a thief too much XD

I was in the wilderness in Elder Scrolls 4, fighting a bear, when this noble lady on the road runs over to help.
She gets killed by the bear and 3 levels later I find out I'm supposed to talk to her as part of a guild mission. :'(
It wasn't my fault! She was supposed to be in the town at her house! not out in the woods attacking animals!
-
lol I KNOW I can't remember half of the things that went wrong...I had to start over soooooo many times. BUT! life goes on.
Rogues are good for ninjaing bases in BG's....and for guarding them because then the opposing faction will underestimate you.
and you know what happens when you underestimate me?
you get some baaaaaaaddddd voodoo (I know some shamans k? thxbye)
