What is this year's most popular anime?

Every year when i go to kcon there is a different anime/manga that is really popular like newly popular. Does anyone know which one that is? i just want to get a good idea cause i may want to make a costume for my boyfriend from that anime/manga... i kinda have a feeling its K-ON!

soul eater maybe or pokemon...maybe axis power hetalia. thats what i think.

I think it's a debate between Soul Eater, Kuroshitsuji and Shugo Chara

I'd say Hetalia due to the fact that it has a ton of LJ comms, but too many people hate it with a burning passion.

I'm curious about what the over all cosplayer turn out will be... Like at last year's Kumori there were a good portion of Death Note and Naruto cosplayers, and at SakuraCon there were a fair less of both... From what I saw - but I never really left to g outside at Sakura.

I agree with K-On.  Another popular show this season is Valkyria Chronicles.  Also popular are,  Kemono no Souja Erin, Guin Saga, Cross Game, 07 Ghost, Koukaku no Regios, Tayutama, Tears to Tiara, and Asura Cryin'.  Also showing in new seasons or adding episodes are:  The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2, Hayate no Gotoku - 2nd Season, Birdy The Mighty Decode S2, and Spice & Wolf II.

The most popular anime feature this year will be Miyuzaki's Ponyo - On the Cliffs by the Sea.  Disney should be releasing it this Summer.

I think that got the main ones.

I give honorable mention to:  Basquash!, and Michiko to Hatchin.

Ok that gives me a good idea. every year there is this one anime or manga a ton of people are cosplaying from but some old things are comin back so its a bit hard to tell thanks for letting me know what you guys think!

Oh the thing with Spice & Wolf, even though it's awsome and popular, they wear pretty "average" clothes so I doubt we'd notice a big number of them..
