Kumoricon Sandwich
« on: July 31, 2009, 02:22:25 am »
Im deciding to make this thread so as to help out those who come to kumoricon, and don't have the fund's to buy food every day their at the con. This piece of food I am going to share with you is a cheap way to survive without starving and will at least satisfy your hunger for a couple of hour's, and the best part is, you don't have to spend over ten bucks on this. So, to make a kumoricon sandwich, you will need bread (I recomend white bread, because I haven't tried other breads yet), jam, peanut butter (unless you don't want to, that's just an added) and fruity pebbles.

1) get two slices of bread.
2) put the jam (and peanut butter if you want) on the two slices of bread.
3) poar enough fruity pebbles to where it's covering one, or two slices of bread.
4) put the two slices of bread together
5) enjoy.

Now, I don't know how well you'll like this, but it's a sweet, cheap meal that can doesn't need much effort to do. I hope this helps, and if anyone else has a cheap meal that's really easy to make, just post it up here.

hey, it's good. I thought it was going to be bad, but it's actually really good, a little sweet, but it works, and you don't need to refrigerate it, you don't need to boil water or do a lot of work to make it. But the best part, is that it's also breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all mixed in to one. But again, it's just an alternative if you don't have money, and want something different from ramen (at least, it has more nutrition than ramen) But again, if anyone else has their own concoctions that they think might help with the starvation problem, than definitely post it.

because for some reason, with the fruity pebble's, it fill's you up much faster, and longer, thus making it a kumoricon sandwich. It's not my creation bye the way, it was introduced to me bye my friend's, and you don't have to make it if you don't want to. But to some, it might be good, it's good to my friends and I.

Depends on the sandwich, mostly, but fritos are a pretty neutral chip, mostly salt and crunch, and salt is a flavor enhancer, and who doesn't like crunchy food? So, I like it, but everyone has different tastes.

Elvis was known for eating peanut butter & banana sandwiches.
They are actually edible and reasonably nutritious.

Fritos go with Bologna sandwiches. Used to eat those in elementary school.

As much as I love sweet food, I've been trying to cut back on them. I have a bit of a gut
So here's my healthy idea for a sandwich

Bread
Thin layer of Mayo or Miracle Whip
A slice of avocado
Lettuce
Tomato
3 deli slices of Ham
Mustard of your choice, I use Russian mustard
Bread.

I would use either potato bread or a whole grain wheat.

Half a bagel
sauce of choice, if desired
5-10 leaves raw baby spinach
3 slices of roma tomato
5-10 leaves raw baby spinach
1 slice cheese, as preferred
Half a bagel

The bagel provides the calories that your body relies on to generate energy.  The tomato provides a wealth of vitamins and minerals, as well as much of the flavour.  The raw spinach provides an inexpensive, healthy source of iron.  The cheese adds unsaturated fats, protein, calcium, and flavour to the mix.  I generally aim to eat one of these every day.  They cost about $1.50 each and are incredibly filling and well-balanced.

A few other things you can add to the mix:

a plain, one-egg omelet:
Adds quite a bit of protein, a small amount of iron, and a good amount of protein.

Ham, Salmon, Poultry, etc:
if you eat meat, go for it.  Excellent source of unsaturated fats, protein, and iron

Bananas, kiwis, apples, or avacados:
Adds a few vitamins and/or minerals, depending on which one(s); excellent source of TASTY!

If you ever need something super quick to make and eat: throw spinach, cut apples, cheese, and a little vinaigrette into a container and shake. It's one of the best meals with the absolute least effort that I make.
