Proposal: Mature AMVs (x-almost midnight) & Adult AMVs (midnight - 2am) Contests

Current proposal (will be updated following discussions):

Mature AMVs (x-almost midnight) = Listed as 16+, Warning on Door, 'Mature Content' but not -ADULT- content.
_PURGE ROOM_
Adult AMVs (midnight - 2am) = Listed as (whatever the law requires to watch porn, 21+?), ID check enforced at door.

Mature (for entries that don't fit the main contest, but which also don't warrant 18+/21+ full adult only lockout)

• Dark Content (AKA Bad Guys Always Win)
  
• Good Guys Gone Bad (When they snap and go darkside on the bad-guys.)
  
• Insanity
  
• "It doesn't fit" (AKA Misc)
  
• Extreme Violence (Content unsuitable for the main contest, no gore limits.)
  
• 'make me (the judges/audience) puke'
  
• Ecchi (no sub categories)
  

Adult

• 'make me (the judges/audience) puke' (adult version)
  
• Insanity
  
• Misc
  
• "It doesn't fit" (Implausible acts)
  
• Hentai (categories: FF, MF, MM, and Other)
  

This is where it started publicly; I still think it's a good idea and plan to run it if accepted and I can make it to Kumoricon (I will try my best.).

Actually the secret plan is to run an Adult AMV contest comprised of two sections.  A section for 18+ but without actual porn (but anything right up to the line works) revolving around max Ecchi (with FF, MF, MM, and other categories), 'make me (the judges/audience) puke', Insanity, and "It doesn't fit".  The post 12PM section would be the Hentai versions of the prior categories.

Hidden just before the start of each AMV would be a small subliminal blip; programming, like Join the Marines, or watch Black Lagoon.

Actually I have been considering running an Adult AMV panel like this since Guy was mentioned something about wanting to get away from running something like that, but that he'd still like a place for those to go.

I did forget two notable categorys, perverse humor and 'This may scar you for life'.

I figured the pre midnight section would be 18+ or parental supervision required; but not carded.  Everyone would be purged from the room, and then allowed back in while being carded/age verified.

I'd really like for there to be a mini-contest for something in between those two extremes. An adult "R rated" contest, if you would. I can think of a few dozen videos that are really quite good but for some reason (violence, dark content, etc) are unable to be shown in the main contest. I'm not sure that's what you are thinking of but I thought I'd throw it out there that I'd be very interested in helping make that happen.

That said the "made the audience puke" "super porn" "AMV Hell 0" thing really isn't my thing. Best of luck with that <3. Similarly I don't think that a focus on ecchi is really what /most/ of the mid-crowd is looking for. Honestly super ecchi seems to be something the 14-19 year-old boy crowd typically so I don't know how much luck you'll have with an 18+ ecchi event... >.> I really don't mean to sound cynical. Yes, the intent was for a sort of split Mature/Adult show.  The adult section would be past midnight and carded.

The 'Rated R' style section would be the before midnight part.  Maybe you're right it should be something more like this?

What sort of change were you suggesting?  It seems that it wasn't clear to me when I read your last post, but that was between watching rounds of Lingo on TV... (older DVR timeshift being cleared off).

What I'm saying is what interests me (and presumably people like me) is the possibility of mature, thought-provoking adult AMVs while you are clearly more interested in running a "sex and violence" show. There's nothing wrong with that, I'm just stating the difference in approaches and ideas and pointing out that the style of show you are setting up is catering to a very specific audience.

Sex is always 18+ no need for 21.  No idea why R-rated is 17+ (i think that or 16+) because its 1 year difference.. kind of retarded.

Having a 'porn' section of the show, yes I'm interested in giving those a proper place to exist/have a contest.   However I don't want just a porn/violence show, that's just the only obvious content I can think of that would not make the cut for the main AMV show.
