Video Game Music
« on: December 20, 2009, 09:34:22 am »
Hey all,

My band, Warlord of Etheria, is a local Symphonic/Progressive Nerd Metal group, and we're on the lookout for more songs to add to our portfolio, particularly video game themes.  Specifically, we're looking for songs that sound great, appeal to a variety of audiences, and aren't already being performed by major groups like PowerGlove and the Minibosses.

Here are a few that we have already:
Bloody Tears (Castlevania)
Kurobeneiki (Tetris)
Illuria (Warlords: Battlecry)
Bubble Bobble Theme (Bubble Bobble)

And a few originals that are about games:
Machina (Cave Story)
Wyvern's Fire (Monster Hunter)
Summoning the Dragon (Warlords)
Uprising (Warlords)
Seige (Lords of the Realm)
Other World (Dungeons and Dragons)
Black Dragon of Schrade (Monster Hunter)
Final Battle (Final Fantasy Series)

Anyway, we'd appreciate anything you might want to suggest that we add to that list.  We're trying to keep any and all covers gaming related.  Also, we're working on a new name, which we'll be announcing at MEW Con, so if you're interested in following us, make sure to check our myspace page in January; we'll leave the old one up for a few months after making the new page with our new name.

I've gotten a lot of request for LoZ, so I'm going to play through it in January and see if I can come up with a good arrangement.  Glad you like the music! :>

You could convert the battle theme to Metal and that would sound so cool.

Anyways not just the Devil May cry theme song but you can look in the anime soundtrack through youtube. There is some really good rock songs on it. It's awesome.

Also the games have crazy heavy metal music also.

I've always wanted to hear some of the Silent Hill music live:

"You're Not Here" performed by Elizabeth McGylnn

"I Want Love" performed by Elizabeth McGylnn

"Esperandote" performed by Rika Muranaka

"Tender Sugar" performed by Elizabeth McGlynn

Off the top of my head those are the best, I'm sure there are some other
great ones if you look at the soundtracks....

I GOT THE BLOOD OF THE MAKERS OF TETRIS YO.

Oh my gosh. Ever since I got Tetris for the PSP my mom and dad have been going crazy. I am so lucky I upgraded to the PSPgo otherwise the family would be playing TETRIS on MY PSP.

Something from Metal Gear Solid, maybe? Like the original theme from number one?

Hmm... personally, I love Terra from FFIX (hell, it's my opinion that FFIX has the best soundtrack out of all of them) as well as Dark Messenger from FFIX. I also put in a good word for the Requiem of Spirit from LoZ: OoT; again, my personal favorite of the Ocarina songs.

It is one of the worst tetris games i have ever played for a few reasons
1: NO MULTIPLAYER how can i be a tetris master if i cant beat other people
2: the music sounds like i am stuck in a rave and cant get out. where is the original music

Love it.  I actually didn't want to play it with my group at first but then we were jamming to it one day and my opinion became altered.  It's too good not to play.
