Miku cosplay help~~

My Miku cosplay is about 99% complete... I just need one thing.

You see those strips of blue on the top of her socks and the bottom of her shoes? I've been wondering what I could use for that, it's driving me crazy. |8

Bias tape? My may even be able to get away with paint but that completely depends on how you made your shoe/stockings.

I used electrical tape for Len, but it falls off really easily. ono

reflective tape could work~ I've been thinking about getting it for Mikuo...

If you can find Miku-blue in ribbon or bias tape it would work. Sewing it to the thigh-hi's won't be difficult. You just have the stretch the thigh-hi while sewing in the ribbon/bias tape. It'll add the blue ends while still having stretch. As for the shoes I would just use layers fabric paint. 'o'

Oh well, bias tape/ribbon/fabric would work for the thigh highs. I put fabric on the tops of my white mage socks and it worked great. Though, I didn't sew them in since I was having problems with that. I ended up just gluing the triangles down with Fabri-Tac while the socks were on my body and waiting for them to dry (5 or so minutes). It worked pretty well, I defiantly suggest using fashion tape or sock glue on them so they don't shift around.

Shoes would depend on materiel. If they are canvasy or some other type of fabric I would go with what RixKu suggested. If they are leather or something I that sort, then I would go get some of these bad boys http://www.caningshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=OTH-J (I just keep pimping it out because it's soooooo nice) There may be somewhere in town that sells it if you feel like calling shoe stores around you.

about the thigh highs: when i made rikkus ffx boots i had to hot-glue the bias tape and what not onto a sock... if you do like i did and put on 2 (or 3) pairs of thigh highs (to protect your legs!) and hot glued bias tape or ribbon onto the thigh high while its on your leg it should stay stretched where you want it to... and if it falls down after that theres always "boob-tape" or double sided tape

They come in primary colors but idk if they have Miku blue.

LtCommanderRichie had pics of her reflective tape for another cosplay, and it looks like a good Miku color. She said she got it at Reflectivelyyours.com in the overstock section

dunno, but it should be reflecting always, except when your in the dark.
