Miyavi the larger than life Japanese recording artist, entertainer and samurai guitarist is bringing his spectacular NEO TOKYO SAMURAI BLACK WORLD TOUR to Portland for the first time!

In 1999, after quitting high school at the age of 17, Miyavi moved to Tokyo with only his guitar in hand, and found success as the guitarist for the visual kei indie band Due' Le Quarts and as part of the J-Rock supergroup S.K.I.N. As a solo artist, Miyavi is a superstar in his home country of Japan and has a dedicated and loyal worldwide following amongst J-Rock fans.

In 2008, Miyavi launched his first world tour with 36 shows in 14 countries including his US debut at a secret show at MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, in February 2007. In May of that year, Miyavi was the featured artist at the J Rock Revolution concert held at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. The concert sold out in one day. One of the highlights of the performance was the 6 ft, 800 lbs Taiko drum that was shipped all the way from Japan for the performance.

A true Japanese spirit with a western influence, Miyavi kicked off his NEO TOKYO SAMURAI BLACK TOUR in Japan in 2009. This year sees Miyavi taking this large scale, awe-inspiring tour worldwide, with 40 shows in 20 countries. The NEO TOKYO SAMURAI BLACK WORLD TOUR 2010 will be the largest world tour any Japanese artist has ever produced.
