My wife is inking a syndicated comic!
« on: January 19, 2011, 04:25:14 pm »
Sorry gang, I just couldn't keep it a secret any longer!  Finally got the OK to announce that my wife, EasilyAmewsed on the forum, is doing all of the typesetting and inking for the syndicated comic Dick Tracy!   :o   You will be able to see it in the Chicago Tribune in a few months, and it may be accepted by other papers as well.  Mike Curtis is writing the script and submitting the "names" aka storyboard, Joe Staton is doing the pencils and layout, and my wife is inking and lettering.  They will also have Shane Fisher doing the color for the Sunday strip.  I am not supposed to say any more than what has already been released.   8)

I will put a link to the actual comic when it becomes available.   ;D

And here it is!

So is Warren Beatty gonna show up for Anime Friday now? We might be able to squeeze Annette Bening in somehow. lol

Congrats! This has been in the works for a while now. I think since the last time I was able to come over on Friday.

Nice thing about inking, you don't have to remember all those Dick Tracy names! lol
Have Fun

Actually, she has already had a talk with Joe about one of the characters.  The image didn't mach with the name Mike had placed in the script.  Since she is doing the lettering she was trying to figure out who she was supposed to put in the frame.  She also has to make sure they are all spelled right.   ;D

She did a good job. But, in the second panel, is that a kitchen cupboard with a drawer pull on it, or what? I blame the penciller for making me wonder.
Have Fun
