2011 April 17 General Meeting

Our next general meeting will be held on Sunday, April 17, at 1:00 PM, at one of our convention hotels:

Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay
100 Columbia St
Vancouver, WA 98660

General meetings are open to the public. Meet and plan with other staff, find out about joining staff or become a volunteer, and learn about open staff positions. Bring interested friends!

Thanks for the info. It would be nice to have the chance to check out our second hotel. However, I won't know until that morning whether I will have the chance for paid work in Eugene that day. Obviously I might be the only one who thinks this way, but it would be so convenient for us commuters if OryCon and KC had meetings at slightly different times on the same day (rather than two days in a row on the same weekend). :)

Will be coming with my boyfriend and possibly my mother, JJ.  She's been told she would make a good yojimbo in past cons, and probably will try for a slot there.  My boyfriend will as well.  I will probably try to get on maid staff.  I will be ordering my maid dress later this month.

edit: where in the hotel will it be held?  i've been to the quay for mewcons.

I was going to go but I won't be able to make it. I thought it was going to be in Portland which is still a bit of a distance considering I can't drive.

Yes, we're taking staff registrations (subject to availability of the position) throughout the con year. (But all else being equal, signing up earlier rather than later is much better.)

Everyone driving, please be careful. I had to abandon thoughts of going to Uwajimaya and the OryCon meeting today because of hydroplaning!

If the conditions are not improved tomorrow, I will likely stay home. Does anyone know whether the room in which the meeting is held will have wireless net? If so I could be on Skype, Gchat or Facebook chat with someone during the meeting, perhaps....?

wish i couldve gone. but, im recovering from prom, had a shift that i couldnt back out of AND a volunteer appreciation dinner to attend. OH! and have time for homework.
