I really like this idea! I'm a pawn, but I've got several attacks and a scripted battle plan that I'd love to use!

If you're on white team I'll be sure to use you! <3 Just approach me during the meeting. If I get the "OK," talk things over with the other Chess Master, and ask around for another person willing to play along I'm pretty sure I can get you an attack or two with someone compliant. (I had a bad experience with someone who just ran and "tackled" me last year. I had two special moves, too. T_T She didn't even try to dodge my shuriken when I swiped at her!)

I'm on the black team as Momiji.

let me love you momiji D; i dun wants to hurt you your to cute D; ....maybe you can distract people by making them sing the momiji song like in the hotsprings and when they sing you run away :DDDD if anything you should sing it before it all starts so i can get teary eyed and just stare at you with the "i want to glomp you so bad" look...

AWSOME!!!!!  I got in to my first time being in cosplay chess  and im a rook  and againts my fiance   this should be super fun  *looks scared* if i beat her im sleeping on couch for sure *raises a single fist into the air* BUT IF I WIN SHE SHALE MAKE ME WAFFLES!!!!!  

 im just curious where the pre meeting will be *looks around* hoping it will be were the chess is going to be held hehe but still so excited to be in it

To answer the question about last year:
Between people randomly coming on stage and trying to "battle" with the pieces, and people kept giving a Mokona piece different weapons, and after a while, they were getting huge and hard for her to handle, especially since she couldn't see part what was in front of her.

I will be talking about these things at the Improv Fighting panel, as well, Jaki will be making an appearance to help with the rules.

oh,my props ranged from small to medium large. and plus i will be asking people if they need a specific weaponry at the pre meet.

I feel really bad for what happened last year. I feel like people who aren't participating in cosplay chess (Either you got taken out or you're sitting on the side during a battle or you're an alt) should help keep people off the board. It'd just make things go a lot quicker and make it a lot more organized, though I'm happy to see that acting out will get you *kicked* out.

Sadly, most of the people coming on the board were alts....
