New Years Convention

So in the absence of a New Years convention this past year, I am working to set something up so that there will be one at the end of this year/beginning of next in the Portland area.

To this effect I need to poll people to see two things:

1) Is there an interest in a New Years convention.

2) If this happens would you rather it be a few days before New Years, so that it falls on a weekend OR on New Years even though that'd make it happen Monday into Tuesday.

I would be interest especially it looks like Mewcon is officially toast. Still perhaps a convention is  not the best way to go. Perhaps a new year eve party and grow organically from that to a whole day party to eventualy a full blow convention.

I'd certainly be interested in a cosplay NYE party of some sort.  Would this be 21+ or all-ages?  Also, I, personally, would prefer this be on the weekend prior to New Year's
