there never seems to be enough of you guys to help where needed. as part of maid squad, i only have a narrow scope of what goes on but with the better turn out of maids this last con and hopefully for the next, what areas do you think maids can help out with that i have been overlooking?

maid squad used to focus on the bigger events but when there's enough maids, i can branch out a few shifts to panels and other areas like exhibitors/artist alley.

also, from this year, what areas did you think could have used more maids than what i assigned? my overall goal is to minimize the need for yoji when we have the maid squad helping out.

I wish i knew where to begin.

I think the first thing we need to do is get maid squad and yoji together and talk about what responsibilities each group has. 

AFAIK maid squad is happy, pretty girls helping con-goers feel better about being in line.  (I know I'm probably misinformed, but there is a lot of murk in communication)

Line control is always a hectic time, especially for the popular main events.  If we could swing a few extra when a lot of events are trying to be in approximately the same area, that would be amazing.

Other than that, we're going to have to talk at a meeting or outside of here.  I'm going to see if i cant acquire a map of the hilton so we can plan it out better.

Is it unrealistic to assign "volunteers" to line-control if they aren't already "staff" ?

I wouldn't call it "Unrealistic" more of just "less-than-ideal". It has caused a few issues in the past.

i'm probably not looking hard enough, but did anyone actually record the black star & yoji stunt during closing? i only remember pulling a staffer passing out water from the 'line of fire' and all the nearby con photographers mentioned being in such shock that they forgot to record and take photos of it...
