“Glee” used Jonathan Coulton’s cover of “Baby Got Back” without permission

So hubby man was telling me that he heard that Glee used Jonathan Coulton’s cover of “Baby Got Back” without credit.  
I start questioning as I would think they would needed to ask the original writer of the song but hubby told me that Jonathan Coulton had written a his own musical score for the song and I went to the Internets
I listened and saw what he meant and dang it sounds like Glee used the actual original recording of the song.  
Not trying to offend glee fans as this would have been the company's bad( executives fox ?) for not asking for permission to use the musical scoring for the song, I am sure just made a mistake in requesting but it comes out jerky of them

Sad thing is that  Jonathan Coulton is pretty free with his music and lets people use it for free upon request for non comercial

I am honestly not sure about the legal side, but he did write a new music score, and it sounds like they used his recording (his actual voice) on the episode and its on fox who has such a cow about fan use of ANYTHING they own, and literally Jonathan lets people down load his stuff for free and use it with request

At the risk of ranting about something that belongs in the politics thread, this is kinda sad. If you're a college student and download songs that would have cost less than $100 from iTunes, you get ordered by the courts to pay the aggrieved corporation the better part of a million dollars. If the shoe is on the other foot and the corporation is the offender (and earns millions from it), they MIGHT issue an apology.
