A thank you to everyone at Kumoricon 2013!
« on: September 04, 2013, 01:28:03 am »
We made it through yet another Kumoricon! And that is thanks to our Staff, Volunteers, Vendors, Artists, Guests, Industry, Hotel Staff, the City of Vancouver, and of course each and every attendee!

This year was my least stressful year as staff, and I have to thank everyone that worked for me for doing a fantastic job!
Guest Liaisons: Rei Barnes, Victor Bingham, Julie Copeland, Ryan Gordan, Thomas Osborn, Rachel Penney, Sam Taylor
Industry Manager: Nathan Schuler

They worked so hard to make sure all of our Guests of Honor and Industry had the best convention experience they could. And I am glad to say that every guest wanted me to pass on their thanks to our staff and attendees this year. They all really enjoyed Kumoricon 2013.

And of course the rest of the Relations department, thank you for doing such a great job! Every exhibitor I spoke with was thrilled with the turn out this year as well as with Teresa Potter and her staff. Jen Cox and her assistant Caitlin Menzies made sure all the artists in Artist's Alley got what they needed in a timely fashion. Kat Marvin and her staff ran a tight ship in the Charity Auction department! James Bradley
and Jens Halverson, thank you for running around when I needed you to, like 5am airport runs. Aaron Paige, the Assistant 'to' the Director of Relations, was a great help when I needed extra staff to help out with autographs.

For all the Yojis and Maid Staff, you all did a great job managing lines. I know the lines got crazy confusing, but none of you gave up and did your very best to make sure people got to the right place in the end. While I wish we could have been a little bit more prepared for so many large lines, I think you all did a great job, so thank you. For all the attendees in those lines, thank you for putting up with being moved here and there. We know there is always room for improvement when it comes to line management, and I hope next year all the staff can work together to make it easier to understand where and when lines will be for all the great content we have. Our 1st job as staff is to make sure that every attendee has a great experience. So when someone has a bad one, we know we need to work on and improve things even more for the next convention.

So, here's to a great 2014! We hope to see all of you back next year for all four days!
