Cosplay Picnic at Oaks Park!
« on: May 02, 2013, 03:41:15 pm »
Alright so June 29th at noon I am going to host a cosplay picnic at Oaks Park in Portland. The picnic area is free and after eating and hanging out people can go on rides and or go roller skating. There will be lots of shady areas and a lot of places to get food.

To make it easier please fill out a short little form
Name:
Cosplay:
People coming with you?
Food/item/drink:

This way it will be easier for those bringing food to make sure they have enough. By no means am I saying that everyone needs a sandwich but I would hate to see someone bring 10 sandwiches and have 50+ people there.

I think my record for people attending was roughly 60 or so people. I'm wondering if I can top that so invite your friends. I will also make a fecebook event!

Feel free to invite anyone and everyone. This is a public event and I would love to meet new people before con!

Date may still change but it would be either the 29th or the 30th.

As for location we haven't done anything at Oaks Park before and I figured that would be a lot of fun!

We are maybes, this depends on if I can get the job at Big 5 or one of the Circle Ks or not.

I'd like to come if that's cool. I've never really been to any informal meetups or anything but I'd like to meet new people. I'm also taking some classes in photography and hoping to get to a point where I can do some photoshoots at cons. I was wondering if you'd be okay if I took some pictures of the event for practice and I could post them on the forum afterwards.

This is quite ironic, because I was talking to my friends about going to Oaks Park for our birthday cosplay meet-up, then I found this!  XD
I don't know if we'll go, but I let you know as soon as I can

Name: Christina
Cosplay: Undecided, my friend will probably try to dress me up...
Possibly 3 people

If we can go/make it, I'll bring stuff like chips and such.  (Dollar Tree Raid!)

Update: Sorry, but it's looking like I will not be coming after all.  We have made regular commitments for Saturdays that would prevent us from coming.

This is a week from tomorrow! I'm excited to see everyone there. Feel free to invite your friends! I'll be there with my Attack on Titan cosplay...most likely as Sasha though I may try to get a wig and go as Mikasa since my Eren may be there :3

Good!  I wanted to be among the mix, but perhaps another time... maybe still this Summer, or after con...?

It'd be neat if you could get another Seaside trip together. That was fun. Chaotic, but fun.

I think Nikkie got it together, it was a couple years ago. They met at Safeway or something and carpooled driving in to Seaside for the day. I was able to go cause I live an hour north and it's easier for me to travel to Seaside than Portland.

That's probably about the right time period.  I usually avoided this area around then, making occasional exceptions and ignoring most of it.  (Then again, it's also possible that I saw it, maybe even posted in it, and I just don't remember right now).
