I was really hoping there would be a FanFiction contest this year.

Unfortunately, that's normal.  There probably won't be much in that area for another month or two.  I've never understood why; it doesn't give much time for writers to know about rules and categories.

With the group who usually hosts it falling apart, I hope we see new judges coming in. Actually, Washougal_Otaku, I think you'd be good at that. Though there should be multiple judges.

I've never given much attention to fanfiction before, but I just had a thought that got me wondering. Does anyone think poetry about/from the perspective of characters in a fandom would count as fanfiction for Kumoricon's purposes? I never thought poetry would be welcomed/included, but if the contest is open to it, I would love to participate. I have been writing more fandom-centric poems lately, and I'd love to have an outlet for them.
