I went to Dr's today and I will need surgery. (It's an right nearby an old complication from a spinal birth defect they tried to correct back in the 70s. Don't ask further.)

So I am going to miss Kumoricon 2015.

But I will be working with Joe ("BJ") to make sure he gets as much of what he needs as possible. I may be able to work the closing ceremonies video from at home in bed...

I'm so sorry to hear about the coming surgery, we will all be thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery.

The contest will not be quite the same without your always energetic and enthusiastic presence

However, I will do everything I can to make sure we have a great, but not as great as if you were there , contest this year.  It sounds like you need to be focusing on getting well but I would always welcome any help from you if your in the bed and need something to keep busy
