Would... a shovel be an okay thing to bring as a prop?  Like the bigger sized ones?  >_>

If it is not sharpened, has no sharp edge, and does not impede the flow of traffic when you walk down the halls, then yes, it should be fine. Make sure to get it peace bonded at the door. And never hold it in a manner that could be deamed threatening or dangerous.

you might want to put tape over the eges just to be safe
