The Princess Bride at Esther Short Park
« on: July 05, 2007, 03:23:43 am »
Hey all!  I went down the the fireworks yesterday and noticed that they are doing a series of free outdoor movies in Vancouver, a few of which are in Esther Short Park; the park across the street from the Hilton Convention Center.

Anyway, on Friday July 13th they are playing The Princess Bride and I was wondering if anyone would like to meet up there to see it!  Again it is free to go. The ad says they will have food and vendors on site and to please bring your own blankets and lawn chairs.  It just sounds like a fun night of free entertainment and is a good chance for everyone to check out the space next to where the con will be this year, so let me know if you are interested!

The show starts at sundown and they will have lots of entertainment and such beforehand!

That would be great if someone actually did that during that scene.

That sounds pretty awesome!  Considering Sundown is going to be at like 9, that should give me plenty of time to get out of work and get out there!

And it's free, which is my favorite price!

The runtime of the movie is 98 Minutes, and the last Trimet bus out of Vancouver is at quarter to midnight...  *does math*  I should be able to do that without any problems!

Yays!

I just wanted to make sure that I had my bases covered so I didn't impose.

Don't want to assume that you're going to be willing to drag my butt all the way back to Beaverton.  :)

I'm probably going to come (with Leashy of course), and now that you've made me think it, I am totally going to hunt down my black bandanna mask!  I might even be able to throw together the rest of a black outfit. 8) I lost one of my only two black gloves, though....

back in college Pezcat and I came up with a ton of Mystery Science Theater material for Princess Bride when it was showing at the Bijou. I wish I could remember it all.

We had this running gag about Humperdink and Rugen always matching like ketchup and mustard.
