ZOMG a new TOLKIEN book is out!!!

The Children of Hurin has just been published, and I finally found a copy at Target when shopping for cat litter after searching fruitlessly across various bookstores. It's like the Silmarillion, a story written by JRR Tolkien and cleaned up by his son Christopher. Go find it! I'm nerdgasming just reading the preface!

I read about that in a Powells.com newsletter and about broke the keyboard in a spasm of glee. The book sounds awesome.....and I do have room on my bookshelf, VonDan ^_0

I will probebly get a bigger box then I'll have room for COH and extra coppies of the hobbit (in case I ever again see another nerdy girl buying the hobbit on a Saturday night and my first impulse is to jump 5 spaces ahead in line and grab the book from her hand and tell her i'll give her mine if I can take her to dinner)

OMFG (Oh My F****** Gygax) In the move of my shop I just realized I had some beat to hell D&D books and a set of trade size LOTR all with damaged or missing covers I was going to replace with Leather "dragonskin".  I cant find the LOTR I think they got in the pile of books sent to Goodwill

Aye..as Gushapo said, it IS JRR Tolkien's work, the same as the Silmarillion was. Just cleaned up and published by his son, Christopher.

By the way, Turin is probably my favorite Tolkien character so this book = awesome. I'd forgot about it for a while..now I must go buy it.

My fav is of course the lay of Beren and Luthien.

JRRT and Mrs JRRT have the names Beren and Luthien carved on there gravestones.

What I meant was I thought you meant he wrote a new book....which is of course impossible unless you perform a simple human transmutation. BTW, speaking of human transmutations, this idiot at my school goes around and tries to get people to believe that one of his friends died while perfroming a human transmutation. I laughed not only because he said his friend tried a human transmutation, but because he has no friends in the first place.
