OK so spike did a video game awards.  i dont know if anyone else saw them.  But anyway.   Along with other atrocities that i sawin teh 10 minutes i suffered through this horrendious piece of crap that made fun of awesome games *coughokamicough*, while praising Madden and the recent exploits of EA in showing that base capitalisim takes precidence over production/game quality.  The host (samuel l jackson) had some "sidekicks" that also appeared in the commercials for the awards.

Thiese people hurt me on the inside.

they were the "cosplayers".  three sad sad men in some of the WORST costumes i have ever seen.  its like they got people who had never even seen a costume or the game they were supped to be from, vuegely explaned  what a tauren, master chieff,  and what me and my boyfriend decided MIGHT have been a puyo from puyo puyo pop.

ive never been so nerd offended in my life.  and now if turned into one of those horrible people on the internet crtiquiqeing something horrid they saw on tv.   but i couldent let this stand.

did anyone else see this?

No, I saw the commercials and decided beforehand to stay as far from that abomination as possible. It actually made me to annoyed to think on the subject for more than a few moments, so I doubt I could have consciously sat through it.

But, I hear you. My first thoughts were, and still are, "who the hell is Spike to host a video game awards ceremony"? It was a bunch of celebrities and people who have nothing really to do with video games and know nothing more than what is advertised on tv. I admit I didn't watch the program, but I got the feel that there were no "true" gamers involved, there probably wasn't a wide range of game companies. PRetty much, a video game show made by people who can define video game as "that thing I played that one time". Yeah, it seemed lame....really lame.

I figure, if anyone should do a video game awards show, it should be G4.

well g4 is almost as bad as spike as far as quaity of shows made esspecially for the channel.  but asside from the horrible nature of the awards in general (i think there shoudl be some actual difinitive source like the oscars for games you look arround next month and like 10 games will have a "game of the year"  sticker, all eqaully valid from random places)

but the reason i made this post on the cosplay thing was SPECIFICALLY the horrid horrid cohost trio of god awefull cosplay that made me cry

Of course pictures would help us join in your anger.  I just searched and the only promos for the show I found were mocking WOW leroy video but in an office type setting

I have always thought every award show other than the untelevised technical Oscars are a bunch of self effecting crap.   And i'm not saying that just because if all goes well next year i'll be working under two oscar wining costumers as one of the shop managers and will end up going

I didn't see those cosfakers, fortunately, but I can certainly imagine how awful it probably was. *shakes fist* Giving a bad image, I tell ya!

We should hold an unofficial mini-award show at Kumo '07. At least that way we would have good cosplayers and costumes. That's a big difference.

Wow, yeah, I'd say that looked more like a Pikmin than anything else. Then again, it also looked like a big pink tentacle, the eyes resembling suction cups. So, hmmm, who knows...lol
