Hi Everybody! My name is Valerie. Most everyone calls me Vallie.
As of yesterday, I am the Volunteer Manager for Kumoricon 2007.
Just to give you a little bit of information about my history with our con, I have been attending and involved with the con since 2004. I volunteered in 2004 and 2005. Last year, I worked as a staff grunt and panelist.
I am extremely excited for this next year, and for how many people are already interested in becoming involved. I've been going through the threads where people have already signed up, and I have been emailing, or PMing those of you who have already expressed interest in becoming a volunteer for 2007 to get to know you all better and find out what specific part of the con you'd like to be involved with, how many hours you'd like to put in, how much of your soul you're willing to sell, etc. I am also arranging a mailing list of sorts so that when one of our directors needs 10 volunteers on any given day before the con to stuff envelopes or help with street team, I can get that information out to you all and see if there's any takers. ^_^
I'm thinking of also arranging meetups during the year, possibly connected to the dates of con meetings, so that we can all get to know each other better outside of the internets. It'll be a lot more helpful for me to know you and for you to know me before the con.

5) General Idea of what you'd like to help out with ie: Be Gopher, Watch Video Rooms, Stuff Envelopes, registration, info booth, etc.
Eventually, I plan on coming up with a list of all the positions we need filled for volunteers, and even a schedule once we've got some idea of what's happening in the con and when, so that we have some form of order to this.
Also, if you're reading this and you think you might want to be staff instead, AWESOME! Please contact one of the directors you'd like to work with and they can tell you what you need to do to get it official. If you don't know which director deals with what you want to do, ask me and I can point you in the right direction.
