Portland parks has a web site where you can go to book weddings. They are not as expensive as private places, but you have to book well in advance. My favorite is Crystal Gardens next to Reed college.

Then there is always city hall, or wherever the justice o' the peace does the job.

some of the portland golf courses and wineries are nice too.  Also there are some historic buildings down town that are rented out for stuff like this.

Jaz, the Broetje House is a bed & breakfast in Milwaukie that you can do the ceremony and reception at, and is pretty reasonable, if you are having a small wedding (<100).

I don't recommend Chiron Beta 5. There are too many deathbot slave drivers. :(

But I hear it's really nice around Christmastime...

I'm trying to remember where my cousin had her wedding....
I'm pretty sure it was in Milwaukie.

(Hey Jamiche, does that place have a small pond and mini-bridge near where the ceremony takes place?)

Negima, I believe there is one outside in the garden area (I attended a summer wedding there once, but it was awhile ago.)

They are also a good place in the winter.. it wasn't cold, and there is room enough inside as long as it's not a huge group.  Around Christmas time, they have the place decorated.. altough I don't know what they do in January.  For the reception, they provided catering and did a buffet (they had some good choices), and it wasn't too expensive to rent the place for both ceremony and reception.. I think the only drawback was we only had it for like 4 hours, and had to be out by 9pm, but you can always take the party elsewhere.

Keep in mind, this was a few years ago  :D

Hey Jaz, I really think Multnomah Falls would be a terrific spot.  The scenery is beautiful for an outdoor wedding, and then there's the lodge for the reception.

Might I recommend the beautiful Portland Japanese Gardens?

http://www.japanesegarden.com/

The Tea House if I recall correctly is rentable for events, is a covered and heated structure. You can also have tea there, which I recommend to ANYONE, especially on rainy days it's just gorgeous.

As for your reception you can always find a restaurant close (usually steak houses do it) and rent a banquet room. My personal recommendation for the reception - KARAOKE OMG!

My mum & stepdad had karaoke at theirs, and complimented by an open bar this made for GOOD TIMES! Just my thoughts =)
I can has cheezburger?

Yeah, go to the Pantheon, and then you can go around the corner to the New Copper Penny, or whatever meat market is in there for the reception.

Actually I have been to the Pantheon for a guy's 90th birthday party. It was ok, and it has easy freeway access to I-205 at SE Foster.

Banks and churches are another place you can rent. I think a church would charge more. Do look into the church at the entrance to Oaks Amusement Park, I know it ain't cheap, but it isn't actually a church, it was once, but it is specifically for renting out for things like weddings. Then we can all go roller skating!

Have Fun

I just went to a wedding at Kells Irish Pub, in their upstairs, and it was very nice.
