Sean Larson has resigned his position as Facilities Liaison (as well Relations Director.) Therefore, we will have elections for a replacement on Aug. 11, 2007, at the already scheduled meeting.
The Facilities Liaison is responsible for coordination between the convention and the hotel and hotel staff, as well as other "facilities-like" things, such as securing a group rate with nearby hotels, coordinating with the city, and coordinating with other nearby services to make them aware of our oncoming presence and possibly secure benefits for convention attendees. During the convention the Facilities Liaison will not be the only point of contact with the hotel but will coordinate with the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Director of Operations, and possibly others in order to maintain coordination with the hotel.
If you feel you know someone who is up to the task, please feel free to nominate the person in this thread. There are no restrictions on nominations, who may nominate, how many people someone may nominate, we only require that the nomination consists of the full name of the person being nominated and that the nominated accept the nomination.
This is an election of the board, meaning that the position will be decided by the current members of the board of directors, at the earliest meeting of the board of directors, not by the membership. This does not prevent anyone from running, but it's a good idea to know who will be voting. The current board members are:
