friendly reminder take care of your cosplay
« on: September 05, 2007, 04:15:32 pm »
the cons over and our cosplays get tossed in the corner for next year right no!

wash them and look them over for stains and treat them, look for rips and tears and fix them and pack them up for next year
detaingle you wigs and put them in a har net or even a plastic sack so they dont get tangled
they take hard work keep em nice for next con
superjaz, that is jaz with one z count'um ONE z!

Good suggestion! I was just trying to remind myself of that earlier today, because put them up in the corner is exactly what I did right when I get home. My one addition to what you said, Jaz: Mend your props! This part weighs heavy on me because I tend to use props a lot, and I love my little bits and pieces. Glue them up and patch them up before age can inflict any more wear on them. There are my two cents.

That's actually a very good point Jaz, thanks for bringing it up.

I just took the top portion of my Chii cosplay out the wash. As for the lower half, the massive skirt, and my other two cosplays, I'll be going into town later this week to get them professionally cleaned. I just fear putting them in the washer like no tomorrow. Either way, my deepest thanks for your reminder nonetheless!

Yes, I was Bakery Chii on Monday. I was the Chii that wasn't wearing a wig because my hair's blonde and long enough and I was giving out cookies that I had baked and wrapped with ribbons. I sure do hope you did get a photograph of myself in one way or the other because I've been looking through everyone's galleries so far and have yet to find one of myself in any of my three cosplays. It's rather disappointing and seeing at least one would cheer me up.

...yep! Getting my Uryuu cosplay drycleaned sometime this week most likely.

SO. MUCH. WHITE. I swear. I'm amazed I didn't spill food all over it, or get more stains and smudges down near the lower parts of the costume than I did.

Aww! Sad. I'll be doing it again at Sakura-Con 2008, if you're going to that. And I'll probably recycle it again at next Kumori-con...

It's crazy though. Despite being a pretty small sized con, it seems like it's still kind of easy to miss seeing some people... ._. I know I did, I've seen pictures online in the past few days and have been like... "wait, what? Where were they?!"

Awww I can't wash my chocobo costume. T.T All i can do is air it out, look for stains, and apply new feathers 'cause most were broke in the glomping process.

Always glad to make a Chi cosplayer happy! ^_^

In Louisiana, my Chii cosplay was always my friends' favorite. I'm still not too fond of how I look in it, but if it makes my friends happy to see me in it whenever I've got photographs to show, I believe it's worth it.
