Any anime fans in the Gresham/Troutdale area?
« on: August 08, 2004, 09:15:21 pm »
I work in a pharmacy and its hard to find anyone who has the same interests that I do in this profession or that are of the same age as me. I would like to know if anyone wants to hang out during Kumoricon, or if you need a ride. I need an anime buddy!  :) I'm in my ealy 20's so I prefer older fans who can go out on thier own and maybe even enjoy some anime drinking games!
Anime makes me poor and always wanting more. Nyo?

Sorry for the late reply, life will be hectic for me until the end of the month. It would be great if we could visit if you're here for the con. I have a car but I'm up for carpooling if you need a ride. I hopefully have the entire weekend off to enjoy the con. I just want to goof around and enjoy being an anime geek, I never get to when I get stuck in the 9 to 5 rut.

cool. i, too, have a car, but parking around the con might be tight.
dare i even inquire what public transit might be like?
if driving would i just take burnside the looooong distance to downtown, to have the least chance of getting lost?

Hey, I live out towards Gresham too.  I'm all about some anime drinking games.  ^^  As for getting to the hotel, I'd take I-84, city center exit, keep right across the bridge to get onto Naito parkway heading south.  It's pretty easy.  I'm sure there's a parking garage around there to park in, but that's more money.  *sighs*

True, parking may be tight. Tri-Met is wonderful, I don't know if the line runs by the con, I think it does. It would save some money and time and theres a station next to the Division mall in Gresham.

Parking downtown is definately a nightmare or expensive, one or the other.  We'll be posting a parking guide soon to help alleviate some of that problem soon.

Well, if you don't mind staying in a house we can offer you a room for pretty darn cheap.

My boyfriend and I rent out of his father's studio apartment above his garage. He owns the house and has a spare guest room that is clean and comfortable. We're not too far away from the con (maybe half an hour at most) and it would be great to carpool.

Just an offer, think about it, we promise we aren't a bunch of weirdos and it might be cheaper then a hotel.

If anyone's interested, there are lines that run by the con on trimet.  I'll be heading there from the Gresham TC on saturday morning myself.

MAX is probably cheaper than parking so I might be there Saturday morning also. Does the line run right past it or would you have to walk a ways?

From Gresham Area...Anyone need a ride?
« Reply #12 on: September 03, 2004, 08:45:24 pm »
I'm driving downtown saturday morning...I live out in gresham on 257th(kane) and powell. Anyone needing a ride give me a call and I'll help out as long as I have space in my car. My cell is 503-701-2529. If I don't answer leave a message with name and number. I'll probably be crashing back at my place during the nights and then just driving back downtown every day.
