Kotatsu in Oregon?

Does anyone know if there is a place in Oregon or Washington that sells a kotatsu table or the parts for one? IF so where is it? Thanks for the help. I'm trying to conserve energy in my house because I don't need a lot of heat.

Uwajimaya maybe?  I know they have a good selection of stuff from Japan other than food.

We might be going to the one in Beaverton this afternoon... I'll try to remember to keep an eye out... Or would you need to ask about it?  Alternately you could create one (and a possible firehazard) by using something that creates heat beneath a low table and have a blanket over it.

Why not get a little more ambitious and make a trip to Ikea, followed by Home Depot.  Consider it cosplay for your furniture.

About getting one from Uwajimaya....we used to carry them, but for about the past year they've been unavailable (I don't know if the supplier that we got them from stopped carrying them, or what).  I've been trying to find out through the central buyer in Seattle if they could find another source (since it's getting to be the time of the year when people start looking for them), but is seems they haven't found anything yet.

Hey, I just had a thought, or a question about kotatsu's; is it ok to put your feet up on one while you sit on the couch? This would be because I replaced my ottoman with the kotatsu, and would need to put my feet somewhere. I know my cats would love it.

I've actually discovered a site on ebay that sells them if you get the prices at a decent time. I'm just waiting  untill I find room now. lol. yay moving madness.

lol. forgot about this post. I finally got a table from www.Craigslist.com. Someone in portland was selling theirs so I bought it. It cost me about 125 I think. I can't remember.
