Constructing a Fake Tail? =3

Hookay, sooo, For K-con '08 I was planning on a Kirara cosplay. I've got most of the costume figured out, but I wasn't sure how to make the tails. I was considering this method, but I was wondering what other people might have to say. x3 Help?

theres really no problem with making a tube out of your chosen fabric and then just turning it right side out.  because of the shape of this particular tail i would recommend making more or an elipse shape as opposed to just a long rectangle.

are you doing some kinda cat-girl thing with this or a ah...fursuit?

I'm going more along the lines of a catgirl-type outfit; a whole fursuit would bake me into Ren-chan pie. XD

Why not try doing one that is more like a kitsune tail on how it is done... cause there was someone who did a Kirara at the Sakuracon this year. and used kinda the same that you are thinking and the tails just didn't really seem to work out right. though this isn't the Kirara but the tails are a good show of how to make them.. between these two Pics on tails.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jenns/41237804/     http://www.flickr.com/photos/hypersapiens/525642091/

If you asked me, I would honestly go out and purchase some fur-like fabric and sew it inside out, then turn it and put a little cotton or something similar inside, along with a bit of wire so you could pose it however you like. XD Of course, I like to go all out for the real-looking thing, and it seems kind of expensive. XD;;; Not sure how much you'd be wanting to spend.
