HELP WITH HOTEL!!

D: My friends and I are slow.
And the hotel the con is at. Is full for what we need.
We can easily take a one king bed room, though.
BUT.
For some reason, it wants to charge us 400$+ a night? What?

So.
Here's what we need.
Either help trying to get our hotel room at the con booked.
(We've got 4 adults.)
OR!
Give us a link of a hotel RIGHT BY the con that we can book a room at?
Not like...As far as the Shiloh Inn was from last year's building. (We all hated that. x___x)
So.
Help?

Alright, just out of curiosity I was looking at the Hotel site and put in the average days most people are staying (Friday night til monday morning) and it looks like the hotel block expansion has already been taken up and so that con rate isn't available. So if you book 1 queen for three nights its about 506 dollars for your whole stay and if you book 1 king room for three nights its about 573 dollars. If you email hotel@kumoricon.org we might be able to get the block expanded again and you might be able to get the con rate...<3 good luck

This can be a little lesson, hm? Even if you can't afford it at the moment, register for a hotel room as early as you can after the con. Chances are you'll either have friends that'll help with the finances, or someone on the forums here is in the same boat.
And besides, most hotels will let you cancel if you give them enough notice (not able to find a roommate or two.)
But good luck anyways.

contact the hotel directly. not the 1800 number or online. they should be able to help you in the mean time.

Because with every day something happens and you might get an open spot. That's what happened for me one time. I was stuck with one king bed and five people in my room, and I kept calling the hotel and they were like "Oh, I just realized there was a room with double beds for the same price would you like that?"
duh of course I would XD

We've got a hotel for about the same price just down the street. (Literally a block away.)

Oh wow.  Hmmm, so is there any reason not to stay at another hotel/motel in the area (except of course, having to get up, get dressed, and walk/drive to the Con)?

Well, sometimes it's cheaper. I mean, not by much. I got a two bed at Shilo for about $100 a night....But, it has terrible reviews. X.X Thank God I won't be in there that much.

   Heh, well I was just planning on staying in a Motel 6 (or something similar) somewhere near there.  This would work out okay since I have a car anyway.  Though parking may be a problem...I'm sure I can find a meter, and just go out and check on it every hour or so.

Heh, well I suppose it won't be a huge problem.  If nothing else, I don't think that it will be too bad, a bunch of brightly colored, costumed people walking down the mean streets of Portland. Especially if I have the weapon in my icon picture.
