Costume repair help needed!
« on: May 02, 2008, 01:01:02 am »
I've got Otafest in two weeks and two of my costumes are broken! But I'm a horrible seamstress so I can't fix the rip in my coat...and I'd really have to wear the jumpsuit while someone else fixed it. They should be simple for someone who knows how to do it, and shouldn't take more than three hours. I'm looking to pay around ten bucks an hour, and there shouldn't be any materials involved other than needle and thread.

I'm in Beaverton if that helps any.

So, can anyone help?

I may be repair it with my sewing machine real quick.

PS: shouldn't this be in the cosplay chat?

I'm not sure how well a sewing machine could fix at least the jumpsuit, since I think I have to be wearing it as the alterations are made.

And I put it here because it's not relating to a specific costume or series of costumes.

What kind of repair work are you needing? I'm not a pro at sewing, but I might be able to help you out.

Ooh, sure, I'll bring the jumpsuit since it's what needs the most repair. Basically the seams are busted in both legs, causing a bunch of fabric to fall down when I walk. Where will you be?

It's blue and yellow. I think the affected area is all yellow. But it's all inside stitching, so I don't think it'd have to fit all that much.
