Portland Skype-in for Sun. Mar 16 Salem Meeting
« on: March 07, 2008, 06:45:48 am »
Anyone in Portland want to meet somewhere to try to Skype into the Salem meeting on Sunday? I personally have not used Skype before, but I can't make it to the meeting. I live in Sellwood but have a car and can get to Downtown etc. However, I will only be able to stay through about 3 p.m. (the reason I can't go is I have an engagement in Portland from about 3:30.) Thoughts?

If all else fails, I'd be up for that.  Nobody seems to want to give Washy a ride.  :'(

I have the Skype account active at the moment.  So you can try to connect and resolve any connection issues.  I am also trying to get other work done, so you may not get an answer right away.

Huzzah for technology?!  (Thinks about all the other work I need to get done today...)

Thanks for your patience everyone, once this is in place and working most of the staff will be able to pitch in during the meetings.

It probably would have been good if I could have reserved a private room at  a library or something. We can't Skype in a public place since it's too loud. Unless we all have blue tooth or something (I've never used before). I was going to Skype from my house but I have to leave half way through meeting.... maybe we should Skype in from home since we tried to get a group together but it didn't work out this time.

This might be the perfect duty for the regional Street Team leaders - they could be in charge of getting a room somewhere or hosting at their house a get together for remote meetings. Just a thought.

Skype limits us to a total of 10 participants.  We should have a light number of people trying to Skype in, so I think we'll be fine.

In the future we will give preference to groups over individuals to get the most participation in the meetings.

You have a great idea for the Street Team leads, that would give the local crowd a single point of contact and allow the folks putting the meeting together to pull in each site with a minimum of difficulty.  That is awesome!   ;D

Thanks Antares!
