Alright I want to do a new picnic/party but I need help deciding on a time. The earlier we do it the warmer it will be. I am going to aim for it to be outside at either the Double Tree or at the Waterfront. If we decided to do it Halloween then I'll look at getting a place inside, keep in mind though that it might cost some to get in.

I think halloween would be a great idea because there's all this pressure building up to the con - but it's done-POOF! If we have it in halloween then it's like a string of all-year around anime goodness.

I like the sleepover idea but once again there is a problem with numbers.....maybe we could have a bunch of sleepovers and just call each one. Have like three way calling (I know that is a very old thing)

A halloween meetup/sleep over sounds awesome to me. :3 But how will some people's parents react, since I'm sure it'll be mixed gender? x.x (Though before that, I think we should try to have another meetup. Kinda like a monthly one or something like that. <3 )

Not sure about Halloween, I sort of have a tradition to go trick or treating with a neighborhood buddy.

So far we have been Link (both of us!), and Syaoran (Tsubasa ver) and Sakura (moi), and some random catgirl and it's owner with a top hat and cape and stuff.

The day before halloween is Thursday and i.....I guess I could make it, if it is at night. I'm almost thinking this would be better during September that way it is still warm out and not too far away.

I mean, just a few of us could sleep over at someone's house XDD. And if gender is an issue, the guys could sleep at a guys house and girl's, at a girls. I'd bring my FMA fanfic series I'm writing for a bedtime story XDD. And it doesn't have to be Halloween, sincem ostp eople have parties that day. Why not Saturday, the day after?

If we had a smaller group then people could come over to my house. I just want to do another really BIG event. That's why I am thinking September. How about we do both?

A monthly visit sounds like a serious good idea - we could all do random things in cosplay around downtown - that seems like a place people can all reach easily.

I think if we do another meetup we can not bring any food then walk somewhere and get some. Maybe a Japanese restaurant? With all that stuff at least one person was forced to stay behind or we all had to spend an hour or so cleaning up.

Well there is China town. :3 Since we didn't manage to get there this time, in september or whatever, we can try to go to it. ^_^ I'm interested in seeing what it's like still. Plus the mall was a bit much. >> The guards were on us like, the whole time.>3< So I think China town might be a bit safer for us. Or Lloyd center, maybe? Just some ideas, of course!

Sad I couldn't come to the the one today, it looked like fun D: I was hanging out with me mum though and I don't get to see her much since I just moved. If the next picnic is anytime other then Halloween though you can count me in.

I dont know about you guys but I have alot going on next month, A manga book club and a manga\cosplay party at Boarders both on a saturday. Then there is K-Con.I like the September Idea.

If I do it in September it will be on a Saturday or Sunday. Most likely Saturday because I will need a day to recover. We were talking about a surprise birthday party on September 20 and I was thinking we could get a huge group that day.

So that was your group? I didn't know. Anyway they were just looking for food. Next time we will not have a picnic so we can move around and go places. I am going to plan something for September 20 so if someone wants to do Halloween that is fine with me. That way we have something both months ^_^

September sounds good to me; August would feel too rushed, since most people will be rushing then anyway.
And the Halloween one sounds like fun, too.

Sorry about leaving, but I didn't eat anything beforehand so I would come hungry to the picnic, but there was mostly just sweets, not actual food.
And I'm allergic to peanut butter, so I couldn't eat the sandwiches. That was why I wanted to go get food elsewhere.

I like september, school starts September 3rd so September 6th or any other saturday in September should work better for those who have school. Plus if its after the con I wont be as depressed when the K-con ends lol, I'll have something to look forward to.

The halloween thing is difficult cuz I promised my friednd I would go to a graveyard with him, and because I live in salem. And School is another issue, you adults could probly do something no prob but its not that easy for us minors.

I know for sure as long as it isn't september 27th(The hell? D: We have to go help with a marathon on my birthday. >3<) or the first weekend in August, I shoud be okay. As long as I know beforehand so I can block out that day with babysitting.

Alright I am going to start planing for sept 20. We can meet at the same spot (the fountain) and try to have it the same spot we did before. Would people rather have a picnic or walk around downtown? Either is fine with me. Maybe if we had a picnic we could go to the mall first and get food then take it back and eat? Any other suggestions?

i think the walking around idea would be fun, but the picnic was fun too

the cool part about walking around is that people give you funny looks and (in large groups) you feel so cool

it would be cool if we did an one or two hour get together/picnic and then we could go through downtown and mob someplace, just have a couple people bring drinks and coolers and maybe some snacks like granola bars or cookies, something that people can store away back into cars quick before we do a walk about...

But I was perfectly fine staying where we were even with it being a nice day out and all but the things i'm gonna change next time are....:
Bring a big ass dry erase board to raise above heads to announce what we're doing instead of yelling, or trying to yell over people lol.
Bring ipod speakers, i think last time everyone thought they would bring some but forgot heh.
Maybe get nametags? that say your cosplay, spoken RL name, and k-con board screen name?
And on a personal note, go full cosplay, and talk to more people... think thats it

I kind of want a meet up where cosplay is required. Like a character from a game or anime or your original character that looks different from yourself. I guess if I start planing this now people will have enough time to get a costume together. I know one thing. I am not bringing a cooler this time. That was a pain in the butt to lug around. It was very heavy.

I like the white board idea too. I still like the idea of meeting at the park with a few snacks like chips and granola bars and maybe a case of water then once everyone gets hungry we head to eat. Maybe it can be a bring your own drink? That way people don't have to carry a bunch of water or soda and then have to worry about what to do with it afterwards?

Name tags is another great idea.
