Okay, okay, before people start giving me grief over my lyrical skills, I want to clarify that I totally wasn't serious about this, so here's a real song I wrote last week:

Ask Me How - Piano Feature
Light Rock (73 bpm) 4/4
words and music by this sonofabitch

[Piano solo intro - harmony plus bass groove for 8 measures]

You may be the one,
I may be the two.
Let me play the three,
I wrote four you.

Listen closely dear;
Close your eyes and hum along;
This melody I'm playing now,
Is your song.

(Chorus) I'm a bird in the sky now.
I'm flying now.
Ask me how.
I can teach you how to soar above the clouds;
I'm flying now.
Ask me how.

If you throw me down,
I will get back up.
I will fly away,
from my grief.

Love can never drown.
Love will never suffocate.
It's the toughest **** you'll ever have so
why do hearts break?

(chorus 2) There's a tear in my eye-eye-eye;
I'm crying my dear,
tell me why.
I can show you what's like to never feel a lie;
I'm crying my dear, crying my dear,
tell me why.

[16 measure guitar solo - E4B4c#4A1E1B2 E4B4c#4A1E1B2 E4c#4B4A1E1B2 E4B4c#4A1E1B2]

(Chorus 1)

[25 measure piano solo and outro - E4B4c#4A1E1B2 E4c#4B4A1E1B2 c#4g#4A4c#2F#2 E4B4c#4A1E1B2 E4B4c#4A1E1B2 E4B4c#4A1E1B2E4]

Well, the second lyrics are definately better than the first ones, but I'd like to hear the song, too.

hehehehehehe

This reminds me.  On another forum I'm a part of, I wrote two rap songs, both focussing around Tomb Raider.  (The forum is for Tomb Raider fans, and if anyone cares, most of us Raiders hated Jolie as Lara).

Here's my raps!

(Rap One - Unnamed; from the perspective of a gamer)

Climbin' thru da' treez like a lil' ape,
Runnin' in a tomb, tryin' to escape
da wrath of da mummy,
da deathtraps in da floor,
Don't know if dis home girl
can take any mo'.

Go Lara! Yeah, yeah.

Tryin' to find da cluez for da next treasure,
Some gold or rubies, whatever gives ya pleasure.
Da message on da walls
da key to history,
Lara's gonna find out
what da hell dey mean.

Go Lara! Yeah, dat'z right.

Homeyz wid bad haircuts aimin' for ya head,
But they become the ones spillin' out some red.
Yo' boss takes your trinket,
dey become somethin' strange,
Now bust dem asses up,
& save the freakin' day!

Go Lara!

(Rap Two - "Hundred Years," from the perspective of Winston the butler)

Ah, yeah. Dubya MC in da' HOUUUUUUUSE!

Yo! I'm stuck in this hell hole of a crib,
Cleanin' up da messes made by some rich kid.
She's always off on some BS mission
to find evidence of a lost civilization.

There's so much to dust, so much to clean,
And there's that trophy room that gives me the creeps.
I slave around all day, just to f***in' please her,
Then she has da nerves to lock me in da freezer.

Dubya MC livin' hundred years,
Got another hundred left full of empty tears.
Dubya MC livin' hundred years,
Ain't going away, ya hear?

I see lotza weird stuff when my girl come back,
Some demon possessed s*** dat gave me a heart attack.
But nuttin' tops the day she brought back a carcass,
of a bullet-filled green Tyrannosaurus.

The worst chore I have is changin' her course,
For her practices before going on another world tour.
She finishes it off with her pistols in hand,
Then knocks my a** down to da Mother Land.

Dubya MC livin' hundred years,
Got another hundred left full of empty tears.
Dubya MC livin' hundred years,
Ain't evah going away, ya hear?

Now don't get me wrong, sometimes this job's da fashizzle.
When Lara makes a kill, there's free meat for the griddle.
The best part of da job, is whenevah she gets home,
I getta watch dat spoiled kid take off her clothes.

Dubya MC livin' hundred years,
Got another hundred left full of happy tears.
Dubya MC livin' hundred years,
Ain't going away Lara, ya hear?

Dubya MC livin' hundred years,
Got another hundred left; don't shed no tear.
Dubya MC livin' hundred years,
Ain't going away, ya hear?

These songs got quite a bit of praise from my fellow Raiders.  Whaddy'all think?
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba

I hate most rap, but nerdcore and peacenik stuff is word in my book, and I can feel the beat.  This is now the songwriting topic.  Post your original music and parodies here! (spoiler: someone will steal them)

I write music, but I sure as hell am not going to let someone steal my music. Its not right, the music I write comes from my heart and my heart alone. Just as my heart does not belong to anyone, neither does my music.

If stealing other peoples music is all you wanted out of this thread I find that pitifull and low. Sorry but to me stealing something like that is a crime worse than stealing from a department store or something.

Don't worry about it.

Anyway, I'm working on lyrics to a few of my older songs right now, primarily Summoning the Dragon, Wyvern's Fire, and Kastle Kry.

I'm kind of going for the same kind of thing with these as Rhapsody of Fire; "Fantasy Metal" if that's what you want to call it.  Any lyrical suggestions are welcome.

I have a bunch of my songs uploaded to my site, but can't figure out how to access them from a public URL.  Does anyone have experience with cPanel who can help me out here?  I don't really want to have to upload these to some sketch site like rapidshare.

For now, email me at thatlatu@gmail.com and I can just send the .mp3's on an individual basis.  These aren't professional-grade recordings so I have no problem tossing them around.

Storyline of each song:

Summoning the Dragon - Story of a group of druidic rebels who are going to summon a great demon-dragon to overthrow the tyrant that has destroyed their homes and lives.  Aims for a mixed Celtic/Tribal style; the solo guitar attempts to capture the buzz and drone of a group of bagpipes while pulsing out the rhythm of an army of solemn drums.

Kastle Kry - haven't really worked on a background story for this one; the title's really nothing more than a working title that sounds kind of cool.  It's mostly about the REALLY FAST PIANO RIFFZ so I might just leave this without lyrics.

Wyvern's Fire - tribute to MHP/F2, my favourite video game.  Fellow monster hunters, what do you think?
