Author Topic: I need help with Konan's(akatuski) wings (Read 6601 times)

I had a couple people say that when I cosplay as konan this year I should have her paper wings as well. I would like some help on figuring on out how I should assemble these things. maybe have them move or something, I dunno.

any help would be nice thanks. :3

personally, my thought would be to get a wire frame and then instead of feathers, cut out white squares of paper in their place. of course, it can't be notebook paper as thats too fragile, but I forget the name of the more durable kind. should still be easy to find though. I suggest keeping a bunch of spare sheets incase you lose a few.

XD paper is her ninjitsu. the metal frame would be a good idea. and I think I'll read over on all those wing tips for reference and come up with something crazy.

some things to consider while making it is weather and it affects on your mobility.
if its very wide, you have to worry about blocking people, and moving thru narrow spaces(doors, bathroom stalls, etc). maybe see if you can try the expanding wings tuturial I believe is in the topic I mentioned earlier.

You could always make them minisized and easy to get them off. cuz depending how you do them your gonna have to get those weird vibrent band things on them. and the'll be really heavey and hard to monever. If I cosplayed Konan I would not even try and just trow paper at people. =]
Oh and if you use real paper you would not be able to move them at all.

true. yeah I was going to go for minisized, actual size would be waaaaay to big. XD it is just a maybe later thing to do. I don't think I can get it done by kcon 09.

Im doing the version of Sasori before he dies (when he trancfers into that other body with the red cloak type thing, the missing arm, and the sword.) I just need to figure out how to cut my arm in half. XD

If it was at Kumoricon 09' that would be so epic. But they look like they would take waaaay longer to make.

Thats what I was thinking but then it would hurt after a while. And id have to put something over it so it looks like the way I want it.

You could always use some type of wire and plastic and glue paper to it a certain way....That might make it look good.

It turns out my wings were gonna be way to big to get anywere with. And I cant make them now cuz then they would have those stupid vibrant tags all over on them to make them safe.

So Im doing the Sasori right when he gets stabbed by his replacement puppet parents. (a cosplay never been done before on cosplay.com....I pwn that is all....XD)

But just so we dont get this thred locked.....How would you attach the wings if you were wearing the cloak thing?

I want to do a winged cosplay one day....however there isn't other winged characters left in naruto. unless you do some semi original like angel haku.

I dun like sasuke's wings(look like hands), his emo-ness(not as bad after time skip), and his recent overpoweredness.

angel haku has been done at least once before so it wouldn't be completely original.

I dun think deidara would count

Uhhhh Well anyway if you need any help I have glue....and some talent for makeing things look exactly like they are. Like painting and everything.

Hopefully I can make my wings all I have to do is recut it out from the plastic and attach it to the rod then im done......

ok get a specical type of art wiring most art stores have them and you can put glue on it and put papers to the glue and the wires are bendable

Hmmmmmm......How about I cut out some certain paper thin plastic I can get.....naturaly its waterproof, would look like paper if I painted it, and would be lighter then everything else.

Im not going to be able to do the winged Sasori. I cut up the torso to put the swords and stuff in it for the other version so it looks normal-ish....I'll send picks later.....Anyway! So did you ask that one lady about the wings yet?
