I hope it melts a lot tomorrow! I went out tonight with my sister and it was almost to my knees. My car was covered in at least a foot of it.

If the weather stays as bad as it is, no one should try to get to work. Work's important, but not as important as keeping yourself safe.

true but as I work at a group home there has to be people here, and i made it in okay so yay!

and I just found out that I get 4 hours of pay for the night I was here plus the 2 when i stayed up working = 6 hours of ot yay money!!

Haha, yeah. Luckily the place I work is good about this sort of thing. I couldn't imagine having a retail job and having to keep calling in o.o

Yeah got a call last night. No work for me today and maybe no work tomorrow. The problem with my job is that people keep canceling their parties and events, so no customers.  :(

Didn't go to work again tonight. Probably wont go tomorrow but we'll see. The roads are requiring traction devices and none of out cars have anything like that >_> We have snow tires for one car but they aren't on ;D

45 people called out at my retail store sunday. 34 called out today. Luckily I havent had to call out a single day. I keep picking on people saying "Im sick as a dog and nearly 6 months pregnant and I still made it in"

*Followed by, "well I didnt drive myself, my snow experienced fiance did, and we have a Jeep*

LOL. We keep offering rides to people, and he has helped MANY people get un-stuck, or into a parking spot, etc. Tis the time of year to help others who truly need it. (and who honestly shouldnt be driving in this mess.)

Me too. Today was really scary. You could call back and tell her no, and that it's just too dangerous, and you don't want to risk it. If you mention the drive scares you, they might understand.

Its been warming up lately. All that is left is snow on the ground. The roads should be much better by tomorrow and even better by Saturday when I have to go to work ;D

Not sure this is the proper thread for this but what the hay.  I went from Eugene to Waldport and back for Christmas.  Road wasn't to bad going over, a little worse coming back.  I took the road that runs by Alsea Falls, anyway, my cousin George was enroute to my Uncles place (Uncle lives across the street from my folks in Waldport)  My cousin was coming from Powder, OR down the gorge and had gotten stuck on I-205 as he attempted to bypass Portland.  He was on I-205 for 7 hours!  He said the ice walls were so high you couldn't change lanes and the whole stretch was like a toboggan run.  His entire trip took him 14 hours.  Funny thing is that his daughter flew in from Boston and was at Corvallis before he got to my Uncles.  She left after he did!  It took her less time to travel across the US than it did for him to drive across the state.  Thought I would share that with you all.

That is funny. The raods today wen't bad at all. The only bad roads that are left is neighborhood roads and parking lots.
