I need a dress! (almost top secret)

Specifically I need a big yellow ball gown. Not a very fancy one really, but one that looks like the dress of the "middle step sister".

The thing of it is that I need it to fit well since I'm going to be alongside two much better looking cosplayers.
To explain, I'll be cosplaying Oggie, a Jägermonster from Girl Genius and he wears this dress to be an Ugly Step Sister in classical pantomime fashion.

I'll also be commissioning a coat to go with his regular costume. I have people to pay for that though.

On a related note, anyone know how to make a mop hat with the handle still attached?

I recomend Red light on hawthorne street... you can probally find something similar there.

an all i can think of for the mop hat is make sure that you wrap the base with plenty of wire to suport it so it doesnt fall down

I'm not sure most guys know this but dresses are expensive. I would try at a place like good will. They have nice stuff sometimes

I didn't really get particularly fazed by the request for a dress until I realized it was Tom asking for one.

But eBay, perhaps, or Goodwill. If anyone asks at the Goodwill you can say your sister needs a dress. Works for me when I get an odd assortment of things and they want to know what I'm doing!

Oh I know they're expensive, I get to hear all SORTS of people complain. It's one of my favorite things about being a guy, black slacks for the win!

Jaz, I will probably have to go with you on the dress and then have my friend who's going to the con with me help with the rest.

Anyone know a good way to sculpt a horn like Oggie has on his head? I've never made something like that before so I'm really clueless on what to do. If it weren't such a unique shape I'd just get a fake ram's horn and build a strap or clip.

wow i just saw that was a horn,

only other thing i can think of is sewng a kinda cloth pocket in the shape you ant then stuffing it maybe a thin wire to keep shape

sadly the dress kinda makes me think of the night gown my mother in law gave me, only that was see thru
