I got birthdays presents! I got Zombieland and MAss Effect 2 and some cool T-shirts.

Oh, and some chocolates and a nice lunch at Cheesecake Factory for Valentines itself. I bought Vallie spoilers in the form of the 3rd Sookie Stackhouse book.

Saw a guy get jumped by his girlfriend in the parking lot through my little drive-through window today.... it was seriously ridiculous.

When we my coworker yelled out the door to ask if everything was okay they hopped in their seperate cars and fled. WTF.... lol

"My story...it's exactly the same as yours, just one chapter behind."
Nothing I did this weekend could possibly reflect my celebration of V-day. My cards never got handed out. There was nowhere and no one to go to, or so it felt like. The party, unrelated to valentines, that I chose to go to instead of running late to Saturday's event, wasn't up to my expectations. If only there was a day later on that I could try again on.

My G/F & I went to dinner Saturday with 2 other couples & had some awsome food & drinks...then just chilled at the house for a while after that socializing, having drinks, & playing games. Actual Valentines day we just sat around playing video games all day lol.

I took my wife to the Hilton for Friday night. Turned out that the hot tub was in the OTHER building. And we weren't exactly going to go wandering downtown Portland in swim suits cruising for a hot tub. rats.

So, we went shopping instead. We hit Columbia Sportswear, and then stuffed our haul in the hotel room, and then went to eat at the hotel restaurant, Porto Mondo, or whatever. I had braised wild boar, she had a Ceasar's salad, I finished both. again, sigh.

We walked to the flagship Pendleton store, Only to find it had been closed for hours. whoops. so we hit Powells books instead. Some for me, some for her, and we found a couple for her son. Not that they will help him get a job or anything.

BY the time we got back to the hotel, my ankles were chewed up from the new shoes she bought me. Changed shoes and off the see Percy Jackson up in Pioneer Place. Funky theater, all right movie. They didn't screw up what we all know of Greek mythology.

Saturday morning , er afternoon after check out, we went over to Hawthorne to the Perfume House. We got soaps, perfumes yadda yadda yadda. We gonna stink REAL good for a year or so! lol

Drove through some of the nicer neighborhoods on the way south. Took Oatfield road, so we ended up at Latus Harley. More shirts for both of us, and she bought me a nice pocket watch.

Muno's bakery, and Burgerville, as they don't have those down here.

Sunday I took her to the local tavern for gambling, and drinks. I won, her son won, she didn't for a change. We share after jackpots. She was happy.
Have Fun

To answer my own question, yes. Because after I checked a post in another topic, I know that AllyKat has light years more capacity than I do.

Not a fan of valentines day personally. And not because I'm single on it, because I think in the past like 5 years I've been single..once on it?

If I'm going to give someone stuff I don't need another holiday telling me I have to <.<

In that case, Valentines day lets others give and share on that day alone, when it reminds the rest of us that there's time to share and whatever outside the holiday. Rather than boil up to one day, you can spread it across days and months, regulating the gift rate instead of stuffing it into one serving all at once. And again, giving something, no matter how small, is optional and flexible, and shouldn't have a reason such as a special day to force you to.

Nothing else need be said on my part...it's not that I don't like the idea of a special day for couples...it's the fact that it's only a marketing holiday to make big corporations more money. I gladly take my sweetheart out to dinner all the time, buy her gifts if I see something that I know she would like. We opt not to buy all the overpriced valentines day stuff...if there is something nifty, we hit the day after 50-75% off price & hope it's still there lmao.
