Sword fights of awesome!!

today me and my friend made some fake swords out of dowels  (or however you spell em) and this straw like stuff to make em soft. we had a jolly old time hittin each other with them for about two hours. i evetually won because i'm boss like that. we got this awesome idea to make a WAR out of em. i was wondering if anyone was interested in it. we would mkae the rules later on, but i think that we'd need at least 10 people interested in this. so please post away if you interested.

The name sounds epic, the game sounds mighty. The kind of "swords" I unleash upon my enemies are made of PVC pipe slid down the factory hold of some pool noodle then taped down to anchor it all together, and covered with a sock to make it look all pretty. They come in big and small, long and short, and even shields are made. Concerning your weapon composition I agree that they won't be allowed at the con, but my alternate version they will allow to be brought in, with peacebonding of course.

Finding someplace outside of the con space to use them, dowels or otherwise, gets a little tricky in Portland. If the con was at Lloyd Center Double Tree again, I'd say Holladay Park would be perfect.

First off, you can have these at con.  You just can't be swinging them around yelling about how you are going to disembowel someone.

Second, can we get a picture of the one you made?  I know there a lot of types out there.

Third, an event at con can be done.  Unfortunately it can not be publicized AT the con, but forums are a different matter.  We could not do this within sight of the con building ether.  They couldn't do anything to you, but it looks better if you are not outside the doors running in the street hitting each other with large objects.  A park near by would work well.  (There are like 3 parks/large areas within two blocks.)
