It's everyone's favorite, internationally recognized plumber, Mario!

This is the topic for all of you out there who are cosplaying someone from the Super Mario universe this year!
Also, here is where you can post photos of Mario cosplays you have seen plus the photoshoot!

This year, I'm bringing back my uber-popular Bowser costume, version 1.5!

I have a sort of hybrid one that is two of her brawl outfits sorta put together, which I plan to wear on saturday. The second is a short dressed version, the designs a lot like her standard one and based off a piece of fan art I saw (it's my pre reg costume)

and Peach is on alert for koopas at all times! Been kidnapped one to many times : P

Ha! Brawl version, huh? You should bring a frying pan, tennis racket, or maybe a golf club. Bowser could never stand up to the might of all that assorted sports equipment!

Coming as Mr. (M) himself. Mario is one of my better cosplays.

Though I'll need to get a new hat instead of a baseball cap with a paper M taped on the front in order to look authentic. On the right day I may even have a natural mustache, otherwise a black falsey will have to do.

Hoping to also tote along a [ ? ] block full of assorted accessories.

That sounds like fun! I hope we get a lot of Mario cosplayers this year. Last year, I ended up simultaneously coming across a Toad, Toadette, Princess Peach, and a Mario. We all just happened to be going our own ways and passed eachother in one of the halls. Then some random person noticed and started yelling "Omigosh! So many Mario cosplays! Will you guys stop for a photo?"

Naturally, I was happy to oblige.

You know, it seems that while everyone has their main cosplays that they post and rave about, they still have cosplayed a Mario character at least once. He's like the universal fallback cosplay. You know, the one everyone does but never talks about? It's like he's so mainstream, he's gone all the way around back to obscure...

I know that there are lots of people out there who have at least one Mario cosplay, though it's always as a backup/relaxed kind for hitting up the booths, wandering around, etceteras.

Backup or not, the Mushroom Kingdom needs you to show your Mario spirit!

I freakin LOVE Yoshi. Anyone who is Yoshi will be my hero lol! I unfortunately dont have a Yoshi costume, I was thinking about at one point having my fursuit dressed in all Yoshi clothing, with a matching backpack and carrying a plushie? But that's as close as I can get.

I love Super Mario so I can't wait to see you guys there =]

@RoF: *points to avi* That's me! I think I saw your hubby and he took a picture of me. Was he the guy with the red hair and chains in black? I don't remember if he got the pic or if it was someone taking a pic of the both of us though...

@LZL: I would love to see a Yoshi costume make it to Kcon this year even if it is just an outfit on a different character! Yoshi just never seems to get as much attention as the other characters.

@Soramunesanzun: That sounds cool! Or hey, you could always make the faces as some kind of stick on (Velcro maybe?) and switch them out as needed.

Sure! I guess I can modify the thread title to see if we can drum up a little more interest.

On the subject of your umbrella, perhaps you could try using some kind of magnetic tape? The magnet could be positioned on the inside of the canopy so that it wouldn't show when blank.

I'm going to wait and see what the events schedule is before voting on a specific day. Chances are, I'm only going to be able to attend for just the one day, so I want it to be one with a lot of fun events, plus I want to be sure that the majority of Mario peeps are going to be able to attend that day.

In the interest of getting more people involved in this, would anyone else want to temporarily stick the link to this thread in their signature?

I'm just a bit disappointed that there aren't more peeps getting involved in this. As it is, putting a thing in the photoshoot thread will probably get more attention than just trying to go by 'word of mouth', as it were.

Well, looks as though I'm not going to be able to make it to the photoshoot. Turns out my ride had other places to go today.

Oh well. I guess with the weather being so hot and all, it's probably for the best. After all, it's hard enough to stay cool without wearing a giant polar fleece costume.

BTW, did the photoshoot go well (as in, did it actually happen?)? I wasn't able to make it.
